Brooke & Mark
Brooke and Mark love the water, so it made sense that they chose a waterside venue for their Barwon Heads Restaurant wedding. The cliff top restaurant provided the most beautiful backdrop for the vows and the following celebrations. They chose Karina Jade Photography to photograph their day.
Brooke tells the tale of how they came to be. “Mark and I met on a Sunday afternoon at a local pub. I think it is safe to say that we both knew that night that we would spend the rest of our lives together.”
Brooke chose One Day Bridal to make her wedding gown, noting, “The dress was something I had dreamed about since I was a little girl. Stalking Pinterest, I came across One Day Bridal and fell in love with their gowns. They were the first appointment I made and I fell in love with their Valerie gown, it was romantic, intricate and I knew it wouldn’t date. We had the back of the dress dropped and it was divine. I counted down the days till each fitting and the girls at ‘One Day ‘ were wonderful. The final product was perfection.”
Brooke and Mark chose At The Heads for their ceremony and reception, noting, “At The Heads in Barwon Heads was the first venue we visited. Instantly we fell in love. We visited a few more after just to make sure. They were no comparison. The venue was Mark and I in a nutshell. Close to home, by the beach, relaxed and stunning views. we could see our family and friends dancing the night away, It was perfect!”
The bride chose Jason Wade’s “You Belong To Me” for her walk down the aisle.
“My mum made our lovely hessian and lace aisle which matched my lace dress. Our beautiful arched ladders were put together by Mark and I and our lovely florist supplied the stunning flowers to finish the look off. It was by far my favorite aspect of the wedding decor.”
Wed By Ned officiated the ceremony, the bride remembering, “Mark and I were passionate about having a ceremony that was relaxed and interactive. We included our friends and family in the ceremony as much as we could. Our celebrant spoke of our time together so far and our hopes and dreams for the future. Our beautiful friend Stina read a reading called: the lovely dinosaur.”
The couple loved their vendors who helped them make their day special. Post ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks by Poppy Jean. “We had a beautiful vintage van which served drinks in between our ceremony and reception. It was such a special touch and very unique, this was created by Poppy Jean. The guests loved it! My florist at Beachside Blooms was amazing! So accommodating and talented, we can’t thank her enough, from our arch to our cake, she did such a wonderful job.”
Brooke notes, “It was really important to us to make sure we included our family and friends as much as possible and create a party atmosphere to bring everyone together. We definitely managed to achieve that with our wonderful band! There were many sore feet by the end of the night! We had our celebrant talk of a little special memory we had of each of our bridal party members, which really personalised our ceremony. My twin sister is a wonderful hairdresser and it was very special having her do my hair on our big day.”
Of their photographer, Brooke tells, “Karina was just amazing. Our engagement session was held at Mark’s farm where he grew up and it really helped us to get to know her and relax on the day. She made sure that there were no distractions on our big day and everything we wanted for our big day was captured. The final result is incredible.”
Of their first dance, Brooke recalls, “We both love ‘The Kooks’. It was an easy decision to have our first dance as husband and wife to Seaside by The Kooks. It represented our life by the beach and falling in love more and more everyday we are together. We didn’t choreograph our first dance and just went with the flow of the night! ”
