Happy Monday Dotties! Even though it’s a long weekend for some of Australia (hooray!) I know there are those of you still at work today, or perhaps hopping online and doing a spot of wedding planning. So in this case – we still have plenty of posts for you today (even if I may be snuggled in a corner with a good book and a cup of coffee!)
Before we kick off our own week of happy wedding inspiration it’s time to highlight, spotlight and show off the members of Ms Polka Dot’s Directory. We have Wedding Planners, we have Styling and Hire we have Cinematographers, we even have Stationery and Paper Goods! We work really hard to get vendors on board who are lovely – they’re excited to share a cup of tea and help you plan the best wedding day possible!
Check out Ms Polka Dot’s Directory for wedding vendors who will love your wedding as much as you!
Imagine marrying under the dappled shade of trees older than the glint in your parent’s eye, imagine drinking cocktails on the rolling green lawns before heading inside to dance the night away. Meet our vendor of the week Inglewood Inn!
Historic Inglewood Inn located in Inglewood, South Australia, has undergone extensive renovations since being purchased by its current owners 6 years ago. With gorgeous country garden surroundings and views of the Adelaide Hills, fresh regional food and wine catering to your personal tastes, Inglewood Inn is perfectly located to have your wedding ceremony and reception in the one venue – easier on you and easier on your guests. And Milly is available to offer you as much help as you need in planning your perfect day!
We asked Milly of Inglewood Inn five questions in five minutes –
What is your favourite after five drink?
Nothing is better than an ice cold glass of Paracombe Sauvignon Blanc after a long day of meetings.
Your favourite weekend getaway?
We recently bought a house and weekends off are rare, so I love nothing more than getting to spend a weekend at home and gardening, lazing by the pool and just doing odd jobs to make the house our home!
Favourite restaurant?
Can I say my own? haha no, my favourite place would have to be Motel Mexicola in Seminyak, Bali. It’s all delicious tapas-style Mexican food, however it’s the atmosphere that makes it so great. The staff are always singing and dancing and everyone is just so carefree and happy. I could spend hours on end here just enjoying the vibe.
What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?
Eggs Benedict. Or basically anything that has hollandaise sauce.
Your favourite wedding story?
I’m a big believer in the things that go wrong end up being the best memories of your wedding. We were down at Pt Lincoln for a family members wedding and the bridal party was arriving by boat. Unfortunately they hadn’t thought to look at the tides, and the boat was about 20 metres from the jetty. One of the men on the boat ended up taking off his pants, and in a suit jacket and boxers, carried each of the bridesmaids one by one to the shore. When he got to the father of the bride, he refused to treat him any differently and picked him up in his arms and carried him over as well. At the time the bride wasn’t too happy but it’s just one of those great, funny memories everyone has from the wedding that we all look back and laugh about now.
