There is not much you can’t love about this delightful Daylesford wedding. This beautiful country town provides such a stunning location for a wedding and Chris Allsop Photography was there to capture every moment at this beautiful celebration.
Lauren tells the story of how they came to be. “We have known each other for around 20 years as we both used to play basketball at the same club. Over the years I became better friends with Brendon’s sister Melissa and through that friendship I got to know Brendon better. In 2010 Brendon FINALLY asked me out on a date and we have never looked back!!”
Lauren chose a gown with lace detailing from Luv Bridal Melbourne.
Lauren and Brendon chose The Convent Gallery Daylesford for their wedding celebrations, Lauren explaining, “We looked at about 20 different wedding venues and nothing really took our breath away, there was nothing that we thought was absolutely perfect. Until we saw The Convent Gallery. The venue has the perfect mix of old and new, it’s classic and classy. We loved that we were able to use every inch of the venue and have the ceremony, pre dinner drinks and dinner all in different areas so that our guests could really experience and explore the atmosphere of the venue. Having a Victorian wedding meant we needed to make sure that our wet weather option was just as beautiful as our fine weather option, The Convent Gallery was the only place we saw that offered us that.”
Lauren walked down the aisle to Joshua Radin – Today.
Glenda Belcher performed the marriage ceremony, Lauren noting, “Our celebrant was also fantastic – Glenda Belcher was local to the area and went above and beyond what I could ever have expected from a Celebrant. She really listened to everything that Brendon and I wanted, she made perfect suggestions and really got to know us as a couple, which made her officiating our wedding more special.”
Of their photographer, Lauren notes, “I chose Chris Allsop as my photographer. I met Chris when he shot my best friend Kim’s wedding which I was a bridesmaid in. I loved Chris’s relaxed and easy going nature, he looked after us and himself and made everyone feel comfortable. His style is to capture people without them knowing, this results in natural, beautiful photos. As soon as Brendon proposed I knew Chris would be the one to photograph our wedding.”
Lauren remarks, “The Convent Gallery has so much to offer, if you look at the photo’s you might think we were at three different venues. The style of the whole wedding was, if there was a mistake made you wouldn’t notice, it looks like it’s supposed to be there. I think the theme of our wedding was really captured through the photos.”
Brendon notes “”Everything about our wedding was prefect for us, the venue made you feel you were in 3 different places not just one, the food was awesome, the band got people to their feet, our photographer made me feel less awkward about having photos taken and to top it off Lauren blew me away with how she looked. It’s hard to pick a fault in a faultless day, it was the best day of our lives for all of these reasons and more.”
Lauren tells, “I made all of my table centre pieces. I collected pasta sauce jars, wrapped some lace and burlap around them and was done! I love the rustic look and doing the jars myself was the only way I could get the ‘messy’ look I wanted.”
In lieu of a wedding cake, the couple decided to go all out and have 400 desserts from Dessert Girl Catering. Lauren tells, “We decided on a dessert buffet rather than a traditional wedding cake and we had 400 different buffet style desserts made by Dessert Girl Catering. Debbie Nash who is behind the business was so efficient and so professional to deal with. The desserts looked amazing and they were absolutely delicious.”
On special guest got a very special surprise, Lauren explains, “It was Brendon’s grandmother’s 80th birthday on the same day as our wedding. We surprised her with a small cake and a group rendition of the Happy Birthday song during the reception. She was surprised and grateful!”
Lauren remembers, “We danced to Angus & Julia Stone – The Wedding Song and the first dance was very emotional. We were in a room full of 100 people but in that moment it felt like it was just Brendon and I. I can’t explain why the first dance was so emotional for me, I just felt so loved.”
Congratulations on your marriage Lauren and Brendon! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Chris Allsop Photography for sharing today’s wedding with us!
Loving this beautiful venue and how much Lauren is glowing in her stunning gown!
Lovely natural style wedding photography. There is nothing better than capturing the moments as they occur in the wedding day. So many photographers are trying to stage and create moments and light conditions which are not genuine and look fake.
I have been photographing weddings for more than 4 years now and always felt that there is nothing better than natural light when it comes to weddings. It matches the joy and happiness and also gives such a glow to the bride and groom when used properly.
Thank you for sharing these images with us. They are awesome. Keep us the great work.
Beautiful use of natural light combined with nice candids. Good work Chris! Nice and inspiring work here. Thanks for sharing and bringing that smile 🙂 Btw, congrats Lauren and Brendon… Cheers.
