It’s Australia Day – hooray!! Today we celebrate what it means to us to be an Aussie. The smell of sunburn cream and sizzling barbeques will waft through the air, while backyard cricket or lazing in the shade will be the activity of choice. Even though it’s a holiday, we still have plenty of wedding inspiration, so escape the frivolity, grab a cup of tea and lamington and escape with us into a world of weddings.

Before we kick off our own week of happy wedding inspiration it’s time to highlight, spotlight and show off the members of Ms Polka Dot’s Directory.  We have Venues, we have Photographers, we have  Accessories we even have Specialised Services! We work really hard to get vendors on board who are lovely – they’re excited to share a cup of tea and help you plan  the best wedding day possible!

Check out Ms Polka Dot’s Directory for wedding vendors who will love your wedding as much as you!

Why not use your stationery design as an anchor for the rest of your wedding decor? Watercolour stationery? Echo in watercolour cloths, flowers in ombre hues. Stationery with vine tendrils and leaves? Use vines, berries and rustic wood as your basis. We asked Tamsin of Studio TO five questions in five minutes –

What is your favourite after five drink?

Depending on the season I would say a large glass of Shiraz in Winter or a White wine spritzer made with Pinot Grigio and soda water for the Summer.

Your favourite weekend getaway?

My husband and I love to camping in the Margaret River region about 3.5 hours south of Perth, long walks on the beautiful beaches down there, kayaking and dolphin spotting and spending the evening in a local pub with the locals, live music, good food, craft beer and a log fire in the Winter months.

Favourite restaurant?

One of the best meals I have eaten whilst living in Perth has been at Red Herring in East Fremantle which sits on the banks of the Swan River, the views are amazing just like the food!

What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?

If I’m feeling healthy a huge fruit salad mixed with muesli and natural yoghurt with a freshly made juice on the side. If I’m feeling naughty then I revert to my Northern English upbringing of a big fry up with the works: bacon, sausage, baked beans, hash brown and mushroom and a cup of tea.

Your favourite wedding story?

I’m currently designing a beautiful wedding stationery set for a lovely couple who are having 3 weddings! Each one is really informal and more like a big party, the venues all have a special meaning to them. They are going travelling for 6 weeks, starting with wedding number 1 south of Perth in Margaret River, wedding 2 in Vancouver, Canada (where they first met) and wedding number 3 in Mexico (where the groom is from). It’s such a lovely idea and each destination is really personal and meaningful to them, plus they get to celebrate with all of their family and friends, some of whom are even going to go along to all 3!
