I think one of my favourite parts of the year is taking a look and seeing what posts you loved most of all from the year. Fourth year running (see 2013, 2012 and 2011 ) I am so proud of 2014. We featured so many talented wedding vendors who produced so many incredible weddings, engagements and love stories and oh telling the love stories? My favourite part of my job.
We have just a few more posts to go before the Polka Dot team goes on a little break, we have posts scheduled across our break (including our traditional New Years Eve wedding coutdown!) and plenty of goodies in our archives for you to check out! We’ll be back January 5th 2015 for an action packed year full of plenty of wedding inspiration.
But in the mean time, let’s take a look back at the year that was. Here are just some of the top posts you loved and shared, the stories you poured over, the dresses that made you gasp, the cakes that made you drool and the fun we had with you as our readers!
You loved the sweet, romantic vibe of Jem and Brendan’s Intimate Abbotsford Convent Wedding, the newlyweds decorating their wedding themselves with plenty and I mean plenty of dancing!
With stunning bouquets like this, it’s no wonder Jess and Simon’s Handmade Picnic Wedding was on of your favourites this year! Jess and Simon thought a lot about how they wanted their guests to feel on their wedding day- from the groom greeting them at the ceremony to guests enjoying a relaxed picnic reception.
The stunning, chic Vanessa and Thomas’ Melbourne Bayside Wedding was also a favourite. Vanessa’s shoes left you breathless but the overall beauty of the day was always going to be a winner!
Into the dresses you loved this year, the gorgeously styled 2014 collection of Karen Willis Holmes Collection was always going to top the stakes with the gorgeous white chapel backdrop and incredible floral- and I haven’t even started gushing about the beautiful gowns yet!
We’re not big on trends here at Polka Dot Bride, but we are big on yummy and the popularity of our Naked Wedding Cakes post showed us you certainly agree!
With a wedding dress covered in pink blooms. it;s no wonder the Romantic Brewery Wedding of Nikki and Simon topped our statistics this year!
Shari and Nate’s Beachside Flower Filled Wedding captured everything I love about Australian beach weddings- and Shari’s and Nate’s happy faces? Just the icing on the wedding cake!
Nothing says “Where can I find a venue like that?” like a barn wedding, so I was not surprised to see the beautiful Marysia and Brenton’s Australian Barn Wedding on our top posts of the year! Look at those glittering crystal chandeliers!
Beautiful Beach Bridal Gowns From The Babushka Ballerina showed beautiful and colourful beach wedding gowns for the year – this incredible blue gown was a favourite!
I love an all white wedding and these bridesmaid gowns wowed me from the get go! So I’m thrilled to have Nicole and Rob’s Modern All White Wedding in our top posts of 2014!
Isn’t the back on this wedding gown to die for? Wait until you see the full set of photos from Erica and Jono’s Tasmanian Garden Wedding. Nothing beats a garden wedding!
There was such a fun sense of whimsy to Marli and Dane’s Rustic Beachside Wedding. I love these olive green bridesmaid skirts, the beach side location and the absolute joy on every single face.
I loved our new series “Twenty Questions” so am thrilled to see Twenty Questions: What To Ask Your Wedding Reception Venue make our top posts! Definitely worth a read if you’re yet to book your venue!
And finally rounding off our top posts of the year! Rachel Gilbert Autumn Winter 14 “Serenity” Collection. The modern and chic designs of this designer never fail to impress me (and you for that matter!)
So that’s just a snippet of some of the top posts that you loved in 2014! But I’d love to know which post was your favourite? What did you love?
Beautifully done, Your love shows through in your happy faces and the first dance picture captures it all.
Gorgeous!
