Okay, I admit it, Christmas cheer and festive season giddiness is finally starting to kick it. It may even be overriding the panic I feel with getting everything done! How about you? Are wedding plans shelved until 2015 or are you trying to get everything done before all of those public holidays?
A week of merriment, wedding merriment lies ahead so as we do every Monday morning, I’m kicking us off with showcasing the members of Ms Polka Dot’s Directory!
We have so many different kinds of vendors in our directory with so many different styles but one thing remains constant. We think they’re all awesome! They’re the kind of people you can imagine pulling up a chair and having a friendly chat with. Here at Polka Dot Bride, we’re firm believers in booking vendors who you can trust, who “get” you and who you can have a laugh with- you’re spending so much time with your vendors, why not pick amazing ones?
We have Celebrants, we have Venues, we have Bridal Gowns, we even have Photobooth Hire! We work really hard to get vendors on board who are lovely – the kind who get excited about your plans and share a glass of champagne with you while discussing them!
Check out Ms Polka Dot’s Directory for wedding vendors who will love your wedding as much as you!
With wedding cake officially the best kind of cake, I am delighted to introduce you to our vendor of the week The Dainty Baker! Based in Sydney, The Dainty Baker creates wedding cakes, cupcakes, couture cakes and dessert tables to suit your wedding (or any other celebration for that matter!). With flavours like Midsummers Nights Dream (raspberries and white chocolate anyone?) hokey pokey (chocolate cake with crunchy honeycomb!) and Lovely Lychee (vanilla cake with lychee filling) as well as classic favourites I’m pretty sure this cake tasting might be the highlight of your wedding planning!
We asked Rhonda of The Dainty Baker five questions in five minutes –
What is your favourite after five drink?
Caipirinha with crushed brown sugar.
Your favourite weekend getaway?
Anna Bay.
Favourite restaurant?
There’s too many!! Although if I had to I’d narrow it down to Sails @ Lavender Bay.
What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?
Depends on the night before… But either honey granola clusters with Greek yoghurt and fresh berries or baked eggs in tomato sauce with chorizo.
Your favourite wedding story?
My favourite wedding story happened at a wedding I went to recently. A few nights before the wedding we were speaking girly talk with the bride, questions and comments like.. Are you nervous? And … Not long to go now! After much chitter chatter we found out that the bride was planning a surprise for her groom during her speech but she wouldn’t let slip what it was!
The big day came and as us few girls waited in anticipation for the surprise, the bride very sweetly dedicated a special song to her groom. She nervously and sweetly sang “The Wedding Song” by Angus and Julia Stone. It was the loveliest thing to witness as tears welled up in the Groom’s eyes and you could just feel the love and happiness emanating from them. This couple has been each other’s sweet hearts since high school and have waited 8 years to tie the knot! Really made my heart melt!
