Renata & Roman
I love a wedding that is done with a personal difference and this Swiss mountain top wedding of Renata and Roman held in June captured exactly what they wanted – something non traditional, relaxed and intimate! They chose photographer Kyle Hepp Photography to be there to capture it all.
Renata tells their story. “We met in Santiago of Chile. The special story is that he is from a little town in Switzerland called Appenzell and she is from Concepcion, Chile but he traveled for work to Chile and there they met through a mutual friend.”
The couple chose a beautiful house Heutili Appenzell for their wedding celebrations, marrying in the garden under the trees.
The groom didn’t want a wedding ring, so instead was gifted a special Swiss Army knife by his wife.
Guests tied well wishes for the newlyweds to helium balloons, the newlyweds remembering, “This was a non-typical wedding so we didn’t have a first dance. We had a meaningful song in the beginning called Rainbow by the Rolling Stones. We played games made up by two friends of the groom. We also released in the air balloons with helium with wishes for the couple.”
Of their photographer, Renata tells, “The best. Incredible. She just captured every moment, I see the pics and can remember every detail of the wedding. Also she was such a support for the bride because the bride was from Chile and had no family members there. She really went the extra mile and set every picture so so nice and special ….amazing….she is from USA but lives in Chile and traveled all the way round to get to this remote area called Appenzell in Switzerland. ”
Renata tells, “We made every detail! The lights, the table decorations, the special napkins for the place settings. We made a special pin that was pinned on everyone’s shirt or dress.” Guests were invited to take photos with a Polaroid camera and clip in string that decorated the reception and complimented photos of the couple during their relationship that were also hung.
Renata tells, “We bought some favors that had inside mini little pisco bottles (Chile’s national liquor) and Merquen spice, which is a typical Mapuche pepper.”
The reception was a lot of fun, including a fun twist on a traditional game, the bride remembering, “We had a variation of the shoe game. We as a couple call each other “pollo” which means chicken in Spanish, so instead of having a shoe we had a drawing of chickens.”
The couple also gifted their guests cotillon- special carnival masks and decorations from Chile for guests to keep as souvenirs.
Congratulations Renata and Roman! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you also to Kyle Hepp Photography for sharing today’s wedding with us!
I really like the entertainment. Very nice
