I am excited this week as before the week ends we’re heading off for a wedding. Weddings being my favourite thing means the excitement is building and the thoughts of “what are the couple doing now?” play out in my head as I live day by day in my thoughts. What a beautiful time of year it is to get married!
Before we kick off our own week of happy wedding inspiration it’s time to highlight, spotlight and show off the members of Ms Polka Dot’s Directory. We have Flowers, we have Catering, we have Celebrants, we even have Wedding Planners! We are forever working hard to get vendors on board who are wonderful – the kind who get excited about your plans, who love a good wedding and kick up with wine and cheese while dissecting your plans!
Check out Ms Polka Dot’s Directory for wedding vendors who love weddings and creating wonderful celebrations for their clients!
Wedding photography is one of my downfalls – I can get stuck on a wedding photographer’s site for literally hours. But there is an art to it and that’s why I am thrilled to introduce you to Photography with Cassie our vendor of the week and a talented photographer who shoots with heart. She is genuinely interested in people and loves to capture that love in her work.
Cassie’s been photographing since she was 20, growing up in Tasmania and now traveling all over Australia (based in Melbourne but regularly traveling to Broome and Tasmania) and the world, shooting weddings. She loves to “go with the flow” on a wedding day, absorbing the excitement, the joy and the emotion and letting it filter through her photographs.
We asked Cassie of Photography with Cassie five questions in five minutes –
What is your favourite after five drink?
Gin and Tonic. Always with lime. It’s fresh and delicious. Also, it took me many years to develop a liking for the dryness so I feel more like an adult now I have acquired the taste.
Your favourite weekend getaway?
We tend to do our getaways mid week (my preference as it’s always a little quieter). Currently it would be to Tassie, a trip to the East Coast or staying with family and friends but I have my sights set on spending more time on The Great Ocean Road this year. I can see myself staring into the stormy sea and pondering my lucky life.
I like adventuring around Melbourne and trying new things constantly. There is always great food to be had in Collingwood and Northcote. I also have a list of new places I’m yet to experience in Hobart, like Ethos , I’ll get back to you with a review. For me, food is all about the people you share it with.
What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?
I forget to eat breakfast, it’s a terrible habit. Ideally I would love to have a fresh fruit, almond milk smoothie. Or avocado with mint and chilli, I’m always craving avocado at the moment.
Your favourite wedding story?
That’s a tough one, I love couples who are honest, who are truly in love, but I think my favourite wedding story would have to be one yet to be told. Mine 🙂 And I can’t wait to live that story.
