Amanda and Heath
Amanda and Heath chose Melbourne city for their stylish wedding. The location, set on St Kilda Road offered a beautiful mix of old and new as the couple married in the venue’s courtyard before celebrating with guests in a clear marquee. Their day was captured in all its glory by Two Girls with a Camera.
“We met at a club which isn’t unusual its just unusual that we lasted!! We were initially best friends while Heath waited patiently for me to grow tired of my boyfriend at the time. Which apparently he knew would happen! It really was the perfect place for us to meet as going out was a priority for us both back then. Its been over 10 years since we met and we still often reminisce about our crazy nights out.”
Amanda accessorised her Vera Wang wedding gown with Saint Laurent shoes and jewels from Chanel.
Heath looking sharp chose a tuxedo from Saint Laurent.
Amanda walked down the aisle to Pachelbel: Canon & Gigue in D minor.
Amanda and Heath chose St Kilda Road venue, The Willows for their ceremony and reception. Amanda noting, “The Willows was our perfect location and to be honest was the only venue we viewed. Its intimate, classic and looks amazing at night. Its location on St Kilda Rd suited us completely as it really reflected our lifestyle living close by in South Yarra. What really impressed us most now looking back, were the staff. Carolyn Yates made planning the evening a breeze, the food was amazing and all the staff were friendly and attentive to the guests.”
The day looked to be a wet one, but as is often the case, Mother Nature changed her mind just before the processional. Amanda remembers, “We had a bit of a scare with the weather. After a week of perfect days and temperatures we were faced with less than amazing weather on our day. Grey clouds threatened us throughout the day and a late downpour nearly put a stop to the outdoor ceremony we hoped for. However with less than 10 minutes to go, the clouds parted and the sun came out which made for some great shots and as Heath pointed out a rise in humidity, perfect when you’re wearing a tux!”
Of their photographers, Amanda says, “Where do we start!!! Morganna made us feel at ease from the moment we initially met her. On the day it felt more like having a friend with us than someone we had only met once before. Both of the girls were great with interacting with everyone and managed to capture amazing moments. We had complete trust in their direction and we are both so happy with the results.”
One of Amanda’s favourite memories is family, she remarks, “I loved having my Brother/Sister In Law/ Nieces & Nephew come over from Adelaide. Its not often the whole family is together which was really special. Our closest friends & our loved ones there to celebrate with us is really the most special part of the night; & having these moments captured perfectly to look back on.”
Cioccolatabella created a beautiful two tier white wedding cake.
Victoria Whitelaw created the floral arrangements for the day and styled the reception and ceremony into floral wonderland spaces. Amanda remarks, “Victoria managed to to make the venue even more special, she had a clear vision of the styling for the ceremony and dining area. Victoria is a true professional managing to organise the set up with very limited time and weather which was proving to make things more difficult. When we first entered the room it was hard not to notice her beautiful work with the flowers, and they were definitely a talking point of the evening.”
The first dance was a little unexpected but beautiful in it’s unplanned state. Amanda remembers, “It was much longer than we originally planned!! We had organised with the DJ to cut the song down to a minute and a half however on the night the original track was played which meant over four minutes of awkward dancing. looking back we wouldn’t have changed it. It was the only real moment we got to stop and slow down the pace.”
