Who can believe we are already at the Desperately Seeking of January 2014? We’re ready and getting stuck into the questions, queries and searches for the new year! If you can help our brides and grooms do leave a comment!
Bride #1 is looking for other brides who have worn the Wendy Makin “Katelyn”floral print gown as she’d love ideas about how to style it!
Bride #2 is marrying in Fiji and is struggling to find a hair and makeup artist she loves. She’d love to know if anyone else has flown over hair and makeup artists from Australia or knows of an excellent one based in Fiji?
Bride #3 is looking for a wedding reception venue in Western Australia. On her shortlist for the ceremony are Boranup Forest or Ellenbrook Homestead and she’d love to find a reception venue that meets the following criteria
- Allows vegan catering or has vegan options
- Has an outdoor space so the reception can be held outside under the stars with lawn games and fairy lights
- Can hold 40-50 people
- Has an eco-rustic feel
Bride #4 is looking for a venue for her August 2014 wedding where she can have both the ceremony and reception and that also allows food trucks. She’s looking in the Melbourne area (city and suburbs).
Bride #5 is looking for a venue in the Sutherland Shire or Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. She and her fiancé would love a relaxed, backyard style wedding that will allow them to bring in their own caterers and decorations. They’re ideally looking for something like a private home.
Bride #6 is looking for a venue for her March 2015 wedding. The guest list is about 60 people and she’d love a venue that allows children and adults to stay on site (or allows camping/has hotels close by). The vibe they’re working towards is a chilled, outdoor style wedding.
Bride #7 is looking for an outdoor or barn wedding where the venue is available for the entire weekend (ie not time limited). She’s after a venue in NSW, outside of Sydney.
Can you help our couples? Know of a fantastic venue? A Fijian hair and makeup artist? Leave a comment below!
Bride #7 – have you tried Lilyvale? It’s just on the way to Wollongong. Email is [email protected]
Or Wagon Wheels in Stanwell Tops could be good?
Bride #4
you should look into St Kilda Bowls Club on Fitzroy St. We are having our engagement party there in March. They are very relaxed about having catering vans on site and the hire of the hall and a few greens is reasonably priced. Check out the wedding Polka Dot Bride featured http://www.polkadotbride.com/2013/05/jp-sarahs-st-kilda-mexican-fiesta-wedding/
We are also having our wedding at Acacia Ridge in Yarra Valley. Again, very relaxed about leaving you to do your own thing – we will be having catering vans and doing the ceremony and reception in the same area.
Brides 6 & 7 might want to look at Bush Bank in Kiama

Bride 3 – Have you had a look at Woodbridge house, great for smaller weddings, they are pretty flexible with most things including food and has an amazing rustic outdoor feel.
No I haven’t! But it’s just around the corner so we will plan to go tomorrow! I had a look at some pictures and seems like a real potential!
Thanks so much!! x
Hi Bride 5, I got married at Clovelly Bowling Club which is very relaxed with a little bit of a retro vibe. There are kitchen facilities and they provide alcohol at a much cheaper rate than most venues. You can bring in your own caterers, let me know if you want a recommendation – our caterer was the bomb! dxx
I forgot to add the ocean views are amazing!!
