William and Emily
We spent over a year planning our special day, and it was more than worth it! Our wedding day was so incredibly beautiful. It was filled with such an abundance of love and happiness from start to finish and we honestly could not have asked for a more perfect or magical day!
Our ceremony was held at Albert Street Uniting Church in Brisbane’s CBD – aside from it being a beautiful church, it was also very sentimental for me as my parents and older sister were married there, and myself and my siblings were christened there also!
Since neither of us wanted to have the typical “modern” wedding, and as I had fallen in love with Brisbane’s Customs House when I was just 12 years old, the elegant wedding theme was the perfect fit for us and suited the gorgeous heritage venue to a tee (luckily Will loved the venue as much as I did!)
My beautiful wedding gown was designed by me and custom-made by a very special and talented private dressmaker. It featured stunning ivory lace, silk and tulle, with long sleeves, a soft peplum overlay, and a large silk and lace bow at the back. My bridesmaids (my gorgeous older sister, Sarah and one of my oldest and best friends, Zoe) and our flower girls (our adorable nieces, Lily and Giselle) also wore custom-made dresses, which were all ivory with beautiful accents of beaded lace, silk, tulle and crystals.
Our stunning bouquets and buttonholes were provided by the lovely Nicole at Stem Design, and featured all white, cream and ivory blooms. Nicole understood my vision from the get go, and I could not have been happier with what she came up with!
The amazing wedding cake (which was not only incredible to look at, but absolutely delicious too) was created by Bree from The Cake That Ate Paris. It was a white 4-tiered masterpiece with beautiful piping and embellishments on each tier, with a single white peony sitting on the top. We had 4 flavours – red velvet, raspberry buttercream, coconut buttercream, and chocolate mud for our top tier to save for our 1st wedding anniversary. To say that it was thoroughly enjoyed is a huge understatement!
It is so hard to pick the most memorable moment from our day, as every single second was filled with so much joy! Getting ready with our amazing bridal party, hopping in the cars and heading to the church, walking down the aisle with my Dad to the love of my life and best friend, our vows and first kiss as husband and wife, photos with our friends and families, all of the incredible speeches that were given that made us laugh and reduced us to tears, cutting our wedding cake, our first dance, my father-daughter dance, dancing the night away with the greatest group of people anyone could ever wish to be surrounded by (and that is just a few of our favourite moments!).
Neither of us can put into words how incredibly blessed we feel to be so lucky to have found each other, and to be surrounded by so many beautiful people in our lives. It was the most amazing, magical and memorable day of our lives, and the perfect start to our new married life together.

What a beautiful wedding! And what a joy to see a traditional bridal gown complete with sleeves! Full marks to Emily for putting together a wedding that was timeless as well as elegant. I wish her and her husband every happiness.
