A recent comment on a venue post led to today’s post, a new bride to be searching for beachfront wedding venues in Victoria! Melbourne is not blessed with plenty of incredible water views, like for instance Sydney, but when venues are by the water- they are beautiful! Here’s some of my favourite picks.
Catering from 50-700 guests, Encore St Kilda is part of that gorgeous sunset S Kilda vibe. Part of the St Kilda Sea Baths, Encore has gorgeous wooden floors, floor to ceiling glass allowing you take in the view and modern interiors.
Sails On The Bay literally overlooks the sand- right outside the floor to ceiling windows is Port Phillip Bay and the beach beside it. The venue can hold from 10 to 300 guests and has a range of flexible packages for weddings.
Republica St Kilda Beach is also part of the St Kilda Sea Baths but has a more funky, relaxed vibe than Encore. The entire venue can be booked out for 900 guests or just the restaurant area which holds 200 guests cocktail style or 130-150 for a sit down dinner..
Sand Bar Beach Cafe is a gem on Beaconsfield Parade, Middle Park. The venue is right on the beach, can cater for up to 150 guests in a cocktail style and has the most scrumptious sounding dessert canapes for your guests to enjoy with a cold drink and their feet in the sand.
West Beach Bathers Pavilion, another of St Kilda’s icons, recently revamped to bring a touch of fresh, modern decor to the 1928 built building. The food is a nod to beach-goers of 100 years ago and with a flexible space, weddings can utilise the whole venue or just a portion.

The Stokehouse. A Melbourne institution and with the white and orange awning, a gun relaxed and Summer style wedding venue! Overlooking the beach, the venue can provide you with exclusive spaces for your ceremony and reception, the restaurant upstairs can hold 135 guests for a sit down function or 300 guests for a cocktail style affair.
If you’re heading a little further out of the city, then Waves On The Beach might be your pick. The venue can seat 80 or hold 150 for a cocktail function with views right back to the city from its Frankston location.
Over to the other side of the state now with Lorne Beach Pavilion, can’t you just imagine spending a hot Summer night wandering with your feet in the water and your wedding guests? The Pavilion also caters for wedding ceremonies and can hold 120-250 guests for a sit down function.
Sorrento offers so many gorgeous spots for weddings and The Sorrento Baths is one of my favourites. With floor to ceiling glass, a deck and modern beach inspired decor it’s the most beautiful space for a beach side wedding.
All Smiles Sorrento has a little walkway down to the quiet beach it overlooks with incredible views. The venue specialises in cocktail style functions with plenty of food and will even provide chairs for those who wish to sit and take in the view.
SO how did I go with my list of beach side wedding venues in Victoria? Do you have any to add?
Perfect place to make your wedding more romantic and memorable…!!!!!
Really Victoria is the best place for Beachfront Wedding Venues. All place are awesome.
You missed our venue, Harbour Room at Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron! Choosing to have our wedding in my adopted town of Melbourne rather than “home” in NZ, my one request was that i had to be by the beach. Mum and dad came over not long after we got engaged and surprised me by checking out ten venues along Port Phillip Bay all in one day. Harbour Room was their favourite, based on location, price and venue and whilst I had my heart set on Sorrento Baths at the time (which I now realise would have made logistics a lot harder), Chris and I fell instantly in love with Harbour Room too 🙂
I adore the Harbour Room! The reason I didn’t include it is because it’s not really beach side like the bride wanted (I count the venue as having amazing water views instead!)
Sandringham yacht club! A modern feel with Floor to ceiling windows, it feels as though you are walking on water! And a gorgeous podium to have your ceremony on! I am getting married there Xmas next year!
This style a more concept wedding very simple and beutiffuly,,
awesome
Love this -you did miss Windows on the Bay in Mordialloc.
I’d definitely add Cerberus at Half Moon Bay, Black Rock for a beachfront wedding!
I was married at Brighton Savoy – beautiful venue, friendly staff and right on Brighton Beach, next to the Brighton Bathing Boxes – great for photos!
