It’s been a bit over a year since I first posted about food trucks, food carts, portable food and my love of them. Now, the scene has changed (and my love has grown stronger!) – everything from cupcakes to curry is available for private functions – there’s even an app, Where The Truck At, that helps you track them for a quick, cheeky meal!
So together with the lovely Natasha, we made a list of every single food truck in Australia and emailed them for the details on how they cater weddings. Here’s what we found in Victoria (and other states are coming soon!)

Love this post!! So helpful!
Wow!!! That’s such an amazing idea! Never thought of that for a wedding before.
So glad to have stumbled upon this post. We are loving the food trucks at weddings, and we are hoping to bring in a few vendors into an upcoming wedding show we have in Toronto, Canada. Shout out to you folks in Australia! Thanks for the post!
Loving this “go to” list of food trucks in Victoria – thank-you Polka Dot Bride!
They are becoming so popular at weddings now, I think they are brilliant 🙂
Sold! Come Oct next year, several of these bad boys will be feautured at our wedding. So exciting! So cheap, so delicious, so quirky.
Any thoughts on the logisitcs of this? If the ceremony (at the farm) is at 4ish, do the trucks and food arrive while all the guests party somewhere else? Or are they there already? hmmmm. Powering them might be an issue. Generators only might be the best way.
Hi Sophie- each truck will have it’s own power requirements, but generators might be the best way.
Each truck also has it’s own event duration period (three hours or two etc), so I think depending on the requirements of the trucks it would be better to have them arrive for dinner (post ceremony) allowing time for setup. Would be a nice unexpected surprise for guests to see the trucks arriving!
Hello! Do you know of any food trucks for a wedding in Phillip island?

Where are you having your wedding? We’re finding it hard to find a venue for a food truck wedding
Hey all. Where can we do a food truck wedding in Melbourne??? We’re finding it really hard to find a venue! Has anyone been to a food truck wedding in Melbourne??? Where?!???
Hey Terry,
Easy option will be on private properties. There are parks that allows wedding food truck catering, but you’ll need to check and book with your local council.
If you’re interested in barns, warehouse, estates that allows food trucks, drop us an email at [email protected] and we’ll send you a list of venues around Melbourne.
Cheers,
Victor

It’s interesting to know how food trucks can cater for weddings. Although I have never seen it before, but I think it’s a great idea especially if you’re looking for an unconventional and unique sort of wedding. I am sure the guests will love the idea too. Great article!
Best blog ever, this is exactly what I was looking for!!!
We are looking to have a food truck wedding reception on the 3rd September 2016. Needing help in finding a venue that we will be able to hold it (preferably eastern suburbs). Can anyone help or give advice on the best vans to choose.
Love this idea! My partner and I are in the early days of planning our wedding in or around Melbourne and would love a food truck. But like other comments above, not sure of the venue to have it. Who has had food truck at their wedding and where did you/do you plan to have it?
Really loved this article. I have a passion for food trucks 😉
JP
Anyone know of anybody that does skewered meats? Or greek souvas? Would love a souva or kebab food station for my guests.
