Daniel and Leila

I married my partner Dan on the 27th April at my family’s Wilderness Lodge in Northern NSW (The Clarence River Wilderness Lodge). It was a beautiful rustic country wedding. Because of the remote location a lot the guests came for a few days before and helped with the set up. On the night before we had a pizza night in our wood fired pizza oven and a breakfast bbq the morning after the wedding. It was more like a festival than a wedding. It was the best week with so many family and friends around us.

Our photographer was our good friend Noel Hanna, who had just a month before had a baby. He did a great job and we’re so happy with our photos.

It was very special to get ready in my family home, it’s such a beautiful setting.

Dan’s best man played the Israel Kamakawiwo’ole version of somewhere over the rainbow on his ukelele as I walked down the aisle.

It was such as beautiful day, we couldn’t have hoped for better weather. The evening got quite cold but all of the guests were prepared and we had camp fires to help keep everyone warm.

We did everything ourselves for the wedding, including collect all the flowers from a neighbors garden and made the table settings. So many friends helped out and took the stress off  us, so we could just enjoy our day.

Guests glamped it up, in luxurious bell tents.

The food & drinks were really important to us, we wanted to make sure everyone was well fed. A local company CK Catering, catered the night and did a great job! One of our neighbors created our beautiful cake, she came down the day before and spent hours in kitchen icing it, she couldn’t bring it pre iced as the road is too bumpy. We put pictures up of our parents and grandparents on their wedding day, to pay tribute to our families.

We did a midnight paddle across the river to get some night shots.
