Cassandra’s High Tea

My wedding was just over a month after my 21st Birthday. Therefore, I didn’t manage to have a 21st as all my friends would need to have travelled twice in a matter of weeks. So, the day before my wedding I had all the girls who were invited to our wedding attend a Luncheon/High Tea in the The Tea Room of the QVB. It was such a sweet afternoon of reminiscing, giggling and creating new memories with all the girls who I adored so much. One of my Secondary School friends took the most divine picture of a teacup from my High Tea and presented it to me as a wedding present the next day. Sweet little touches are so scrumptious.

Wedding Theme

The Stables where we held the reception was completely DIY and required us to be creative and innovative with the space. We really wanted to accentuate the natural beauty of the building with our decorations and lighting. Hamish and I are very casual people. We wanted our wedding to be a ‘walk down memory lane’ with everything used and done being reflective of us. A fusion of our two worlds. The colour palette was blues (a tribute to his 21st Birthday where he asked me to be his girlfriend), whites and leather tones.

Special Songs

I walked down the aisle to ‘When God made you’ by Newsong. For signing the register we had three of our closest friend sing ‘Bless the Broken Road’ by Rascal Flatts which is one of my favourite songs. Our first dance was to ‘Touched by Love’ by Eran James. The dance was slightly upbeat which turned out to be a great way of getting all our guests on the dance floor. The second song played was ‘Cinderella’ by Steven Curtis Chapman. We had an amazing night, enjoyed by all and thank you to all those who helped get us there.
