These pomtastic creations can be as elegant or as funky as you’d like! They can be any size- small to super large. Pom poms look great clumped together in groups or standing alone. Try a combination of different sizes and colors. Use them to add décor to your table settings or hang from the ceiling like chandeliers.
Materials:
1. Colorful tissue paper- use the same color, alternate shades of the same color or choose a patterned tissue paper
2. Scissors
3. Florist wire, twine or string
Step 1:
Layer 8 to 10 sheets of standard-sized tissue paper on a flat surface. Fold width wise making 1 1/2-inch-wide folds, creasing with each fold (like a fan!)
Step 2:
Bind the center of the tissue with florist wire (you can also use twine or string). Make sure to leave excess so that you can attach the two pom pom halves together.
Step 3:
Use sharp scissors to cut both ends of the folded tissue paper. You can round the ends or cut them so they are pointed.
Step 4:
Gently separate layers, pulling away from the center one at a time to form a sphere.
Step 5:
Attach the two pom pom halves together to form one sphere.
