Zoe & Alex
The gorgeous wedding of Zoe and Alex has been long overdue to be shared, but when we finally got it all together (after babies and holidays and life!) I still loved the vibe just as much as when I first laid eyes on it. The beautiful feeling of putting on a pretty dress (or suit) and marrying the one you love. Yep, that’ll do it.
Zoe tells their story. “We met at work where we starting working very closely together. In no time we were joined at the hip and have been even since.”
Photographs are by Studio Something who has captured the fun of the wedding with each shot.
Zoe chose a pink gown by Collette Dinnigan and lace Diva Peeptoes in Fuschia from Bettsshoes.
Zoe and Alex were married at Blackburn Gardens, Double Bay. Zoe describes the venue, “Set in a secret garden on the North Shore of Sydney on a warm September afternoon.”
Zoe walked down the aisle to “True Love Waits” by Radiohead.
Zoe and Alex loved “Sharing the day with our beautiful son and seeing him dressed up in his little suit.”
Of their photographers, Zoe remembers, “The photographers were amazing I couldn’t speak more highly of them. They have a true talent for capturing the raw emotion of the day whilst staying true to our requests and our own personal style. They went above and beyond, even surprising us with a super fun photo booth on the day (something I mentioned to them that I wanted but never got around to organising myself) which was one of the highlights of the day.”
As far as DIY elements go, Zoe tells, “I collected vintage jars for months which we used as our centrepieces, hand made the invitations and wedding sign posts, the ring cushion, bunting and table runners where made by the brides grandmother.” Waterfront Restaurant, The Rocks hosted the reception.
For their first dance, Zoe and Alex chose “These arms of mine” by Otis Reading. Guests were directed to their seats with cake pop placecards made by Zoe and her sister’s business The Cake Pop Kitchen. Upon each plate sat a paper bag of seeds.
Zoe loved “Enjoying the day with our nearest and dearest.”
Congratulations on your marriage Zoe and Alex! Thank you for sharing your day with us! Thank you to Studio Something for sharing today’s wedding with us!
