I love seeing a designer’s new collection and today’s designer decided to unveil a brand new bridesmaid collection in a slightly different way! Manning Cartell worked with illustrator Pippa McManus to create a beautifully drawn catalogue of the brand new bridesmaid’s collection.
The collection is nothing traditional, instead choosing to focus on the fashion forward, modern styling that Manning Cartell is known for and providing an option that bridesmaids can definitely wear again. Soft draping fabrics, modern shimmers and modern details like peplums and hi low hemlines are just some of the design elements the girls have included to make their bridesmaid collection truly modern.
The collection is available in both the Sydney & Melbourne Manning Cartell stores by appointment only. Brides and their bridesmaids will be ushered to a dedicated VIP area and meet with an in store stylist who will work with you to order the gowns in your preferred styles, sizes and colours to suit your wedding.
Drawings by Pippa McManus for Manning Cartell
These are simply beautiful! Absolutely stunning.
These drawn women look like they have an eating disorder. This feel very irresponsible in promoting unrealistic body images.
I’m sure these designs would look lovely on ‘normal’ sized women – after all they are just drawings to give us an idea, and not real flesh and bone – sigh!!!!
The peplum is nobody’s friend!
This is so self indulgent… seriously, how is anyone going to get an idea of what they will look like on bridesmaids based on these drawings…?
Hi Erin,
I’m really sorry you feel that way. I write about what I love- Polka Dot Bride is not purely about ideas but also about inspiration. Fashion inspires me, fashion illustrations specifically are something I find to be art and particularly inspiring.
I understand that there drawings are skillfully done and artistic – but these images look terrifying, and not inspiring for the beauty or happiness that belongs at a wedding. I dont think these images are associated with a wedding or wedding day celebrations.
