Katie & Namha
I have to admit, it was the incredible wooden touches of today’s wedding that first drew me in and then I saw the bride’s magnolia leaf bouquet and was hooked. You see those little things that really change a wedding from stock standard into yours.
Katie tells how they met. “The bride and maid of honour are cousins who are very close like best friends/ sisters. When they were younger, they always dreamed about marrying brothers and it would mean they would really be sisters. They did end up meeting brothers with completely different personalities. Her cousin fell in love with the older brother ( the best man of the wedding) and they married 2 yrs ago. The bride fell in love with the younger brother.”
Photographs today are by Stylin Images who have lent such a dreamy, romantic sunny feeling to today’s images.
The day kicked off with wooden stationery from Sara Sofia Couture.
Katie chose a strapless ballgown from Pronovias .
Katie and Namha married at the Hyatt Sanctuary Cove. Katie explains “It took us a while to find a venue that suited us. But we fell in love with Hyatt’s Chapel. As I took my very first steps into the Chapel, an emotional wave came over me and I knew this was where I’ll be exchanging my vowels. The Garden Lounge was perfect for our intimate wedding. The most important thing was that it wasn’t just a room, it had warmth and ambiance. It also had it’s own verandah wrapping around the room overlooking greenery. The staff were great & the food were divine. The venue complimented our style and and I knew it was going to be beautiful through rain or shine. Luckily for us it was the perfect sunny day in Spring.”
Katie says “It was just the most amazing day & night. Such an emotional day. I cried when we were getting ready and cried before I walked into the chapel – I had to delay my entrance until I got it together.”
Katie walked down the aisle to Dream by Priscilla Ahn.
Of their photographers, Katie says “Trang & Kostas from Stylin Images are the sweetest, most talented and funny pair! They were lovely and professional and understood our vision. They captured all our special moments and were able to creatively highlight our natural and fun personality. The emotions of the day & night absolutely overflows through their photos. Stylin Images are simply divine to work with – highly recommend.”
The wooden touches continued into the reception, Katie remembers “Our theme was very eco inspired – Our wedding invitations (love love love) were part wood and also matched our menus which were held up by a huge wooden peg. I adored the wood tree slice we used for our cake stand, and our floral filled-willow centre pieces. We had vines running across the bridal table and gorgeous branches in the shape of a heart hanging behind the bridal table. But my favourite would have to be the personalised scrabble tiles, which were used as a bomboniere/place card. They looked so cute with our ‘Thank you for being Awesome’ gift tags.” The cake was made by Cakes by Simone.
Guests even received a midnight treat. Katie says “We weaved personal handcrafted details into the night and made it uniquely ours. We made our own table seating plan – which had photos of all our guests. As a midnight snack treat, we stamped brown bags with our initials, filled them with cookies and closed them with a petite wooden peg that had each guest name handwritten on them. We love all things handmade which made our wedding more personal and meaningful. We also made our wedding guest book by having photos of all our friends in there so they can be reminded of not only our journey but also of their journey with us.”
Katie recalls “he reception was filled with laughter and tears. Our friends’ speeches were funny & heartfelt. We had a song written and sung to us by our bestie and a surprise slide show from our Best man & MOH. The Best Man’s speech made us all laugh in tears and the MOH’s speech was so touching that there were no dry eyes in the room. Everyone kept the dancefloor busy – breakdancing, attempts of breakdancing, singing, dance moves I’ve never seen before and by the end of the night some shirts were off. Our friends were definitely the life of the party! The night was just filled with so much love and every time i think back it brings a smile to my face…”
For their reception., Katie changed into a Rachel Gilbert gown and took to the dance floor with her husband for their first dance. She recalls “We wanted something easy lighthearted and fun to suit our personality so we chose to do a Ceroc styled dance.”
Katie says “Our small intimate wedding – Shared with just a handful of best friends. We couldn’t have asked for anything more.”
Congratulations Katie and Namha! Thank you for sharing your wedding day with us! Thank you also to Stylin Images.
I love the “thank you for being awesome” tags on the favors! So cute and clever.

Kudos to you for the great work! 🙂
Such a lovely wedding. Many cleaver details – like the tags “Some things are meant to be” and “Thank you for being awesome”, the big heart behind bride and groom and those centerpieces are fabulous as well, rustic yet very chic.
A really beautiful way of celebrating your love! Kudos also to the photographers!
