Andrea and Bryce
Beautifully classic is the theme of today’s Wollongong wedding. The smattering rain added to the romantic, dreaminess of the gorgeous wedding day of Andrea and Bryce.
Andrea tells of how they came to be. “Bryce and I met in Sydney at a bar close to where I used to live. We spotted each other across the room. We didn’t talk at first, instead a friend of ours were talking and we eventually got the bravery to talk. We both knew straight away it was love at first sight. We went on a few dates and before long we were inseparable. Within a year we had moves to Wollongong to start a new life together. Bryce proposed at Mount Keira lookout after a year together. This is our new home down here now and we wouldn’t have had our wedding anywhere else.”
Dian and Dominic from dWU Photography captured today’s wedding with a classic, romantic style.
Andrea chose a gown by Wendy Makin, she explains, “I always loved looking at my mother’s wedding photos when I was a little girl and loved her long lace train and soft wavy hair! I always knew I wanted to look like her. She was a beautiful bride. When I found my dress I loved it! It was what I always pictured! The veil was perfect and I knew I would theme my whole wedding around it. I wanted romantic vintage themed wedding! Roses! Pearls! Lace! Soft pink and ivory champagne colours. Also on the night of the wedding I used a clutch/purse that my mother used at her own wedding to my father over 25 years ago. I love everything vintage and romantic because that’s always been my idea of love and marriage. Everything turned out perfect and love was in the air the whole day!”
Last minute details? Andrea remembers “My mother picked out the hair comb for me – I love it! We also decided at the last minute that the bridesmaids needed something else in their hair and we snapped off a rose from the church displays. I loved it.”
Andrea and Bryce were married at St Mary’s Star Of The Sea Wollongong. Andrea remembers, “The ceremony in the chapel was perfect. It was so intimate and just beautiful inside”. She walked down the aisle to an acoustic version of “Iris” by The Goo Goo Dolls.
Andrea recalls, “Walking out to Elvis after we were married was so fun and just perfect.”
Andrea says, “It was the most romantic and perfect day of my life, a fairy tale.”
Of their photographers, Andrea says, “We had Dian and Dominic from dWU photography as our photographer. They’re fun, outgoing, diverse!”
Andrea and Bryce held their reception at The Lagoon Seafood Restaurant North Wollongong. Andrea says “The reception was so amazing. It turned out great it felt so romantic and full of love inside. Beautiful drapes, tea candles, rose petals! ”
Of their first dance, Andrea says “It was to Van Morrison ‘Someone like you’. I grew up listening to Van Morrison. I loved that song because my parents used to slow dance to it all the time. I always knew I wanted it as my wedding song. It is such a beautiful piece of music it makes my heart melt. I just think of my parents being so in love and now Bryce and I are the same. ”
