Andrew & Sally

Meeting Andy was very unexpected and something I had not planned, I had just returned from living in the UK for two years and still had the “traveling bug”. Unfortunately I was lacking in funds and couldn’t continue to travel. So I started working at a Day Spa in Townsville where I was introduced to Andy by a work friend. It must had been his charming personality that won me over or the singing Eric Clapton song “Lay Down Sally” that made me fall in love with him and after four years I am now able to call Andy my husband.

Anna Campbell

I found it a little hard finding “The dress” that would suit a beach wedding. I wanted something simple, elegant with a vintage feel… That’s when I fell in love with the designer Anna Campbell after seeing her Bridesmaids Dresses on Polka Dot bride Blog. I was lucky to be able to travel down to Anna Campbell Boutique in Brunswick, where the girls were able to design my wedding dress.

Nicola (Hair by Nicola) did an amazing job with our hair, she created a very soft Grecian style, that went well with our dresses. I also wore a beautiful headpiece and bracelet from Anna Campbell. My make up was done by my beautiful friend Judy. My niece wore a little Anna Campbell dress too!

Having a destination wedding made it a little hard to plan things, especially when it came to wedding flowers. But Rebbecca from Blooms of Noosa made it so easy. I wasn’t able to come in for a chat with Rebecca, so everything was done through emails and sending pictures of colours and styles. She did an amazing job!

Special moment of the day was driving to the ceremony with my Dad and my Bridesmaids in our super cool vintage red Kombi Van. We had so much fun and Deluxe Kombi Service did a wonderful job. There were another three weddings that day along the beach and they all had limousines so it was so nice turning up in something different.

I wanted to bring little touches of us through the day by creating the DIY Flowers for the wedding ceremony and reception. I also hired wedding ceremony chairs from Noosa Wedding and Event Hire for the ceremony at Hidden Grove.

My uncle is an amazing musician and we were so grateful that he was able make it to our wedding and play his Irish folk music on his guitar while I walked down the aisle.

Our wedding celebrant was Stephanie Neal.

For us the most important part of planning a wedding was choosing the right photographer that would be able to capture our wedding in Noosa. Not knowing much about the Sunshine Coast and who was the “best” I started doing a lot of research into wedding Photographers on the Sunshine Coast. That’s when I stumbled upon Tanya Chesterton Smith website. I instantly fell in love with her beautiful work and when I rang her to make an appointment she had a beautiful personality and was so helpful that I didn’t worry about making any more appointments. She was the one!!!

The fabric for the bridesmaid’s dresses was from Alla Moda.

We couldn’t have picked a more perfect spot to have our wedding reception than at Berardo’s Restaurant and Bar. Andy and I still talk about how amazing the food was and how wonderful the staff were to everyone on the night. We had an truly amazing evening and I look forward to returning there next time we are in Noosa.

Table centerpieces made with Love… I borrowed the old books from my Grandfather’s book collection and my Mum collected the different shape glass bottles from home. I ordered old keys and chalk love hearts from Etsy and tied them around the glass bottles. My mum and I also went a day before the wedding to the Wholesale Suncoast Flowers Market to pick the flowers for the reception.

Our wedding cake was from Cake Designs and the flowers by Blooms of Noosa. I brought little clear boxes off the internet and added my own little touches and filled them with pink Macaroons from Ma Boulange Cafe Patisserie in Coolum. They were so delicious!!!
