This beautiful inspiration shoot inspired by Snow White is truly like something out of a fairy tale. The crisp red apples, the deep dark woods and the incredible floral arrangements bring this shoot to life with an elegant, mystical take on Snow White (oh and that display of cakes? Let’s just say, it’s making me drool ever so slightly!)
Photographer Neiyo Sun joined with a group of Melbourne wedding professionals, including art director Fiona Brown and stylists Little Sooti and Leo & Bella to pull the shoot together.
Neiyo explains, “The theme Snow-White has been playing on my mind for a while and then the two Snow White movies came out this year which gave me even more inspiration for the shoot. When I think of Snow White I think of innocence, beauty, sweetness, apples, red, white, dark hair, softness, woods, forests, lanterns, mirrors and thus these became the essence and elements of this shoot.”
Model Jess Powrie wore a gown designed by Anna Campbell with makeup by Miss Aimmey.
Neiyo explains, “After watching Snow White and the huntsman, it gave me a clearer idea of the kind of shoot I was looking for with the messy tangled hair in the woods, yet keeping in balance with Snow White’s beauty, sweetness and innocence. Red and white and mocca are the main colours of the shoot so all the details and settings were bases on this colour scheme such as the cakes were white and we added red details such as red macaroons, red apples and DIY apple candles. I even dyed the model’s hair myself and turned her from a blonde to a brunette with a red tinge. ”
Ham & Pea created the storybook stationery.
Cake Face created a table full of incredible multi tiered cakes.
Neiyo explains, “Id like to describe my photographic style as natural, simple, beautiful and unique. I use nature as much as possible, working mainly outdoors with the simplicity of natural light. This shoot was done at the golden hour just before sunset time to give the images are warm glow. The forest, woods add the rusty, wilderness feel to this shoot. I love capturing real emotions such as joy by getting that beautiful smile/laugh of my subject which my sweet model made very easy. I did minimal retouching to keep the style natural. My specialty are close ups since I believe every bride is beautiful and so I always include some soft close ups. Finally I love the pretty details of the wedding day so I included food , stationery, accessories to bring the shoot alive. ”
This concept is so beautifully done – very inspirational – congratulations to all the vendors involved
Who is the dress designer for the gown she is wearing? It is incredible!
It’s Anna Campbell!
Just wondering where abouts this beautiful session was shot? It’s beautiful
This is such a gorgeous Snow White inspired wedding. The ways you incorporated the red apples with the tea lights inside of them was genius! We are also inspired by the Disney Princesses like Snow White, check out our new blog and how we incorporated this Disney princess into our ideas!
