Giovana and Elliot

Giovana and Elliot had a wedding packed to the brim with beauty – beauty in their own cultural ceremony, beauty in the details, and beauty in the raucous joy (the wild dancing literally never gets old to me!)

“We were both 23 years old. I was at Vienna train station trying to sell an unwanted train ticket. Elliot, then a backpacker traveling around the world, was one of the people in the queue I offered the ticket to. He didn’t buy it, but offered to help me selling it. We shared a lot of fun together and exchanged contacts. A few days later we met again in Milan and then in my native Brazil, ten days later. And have been together since.”

Photography today is by Matt Reed who captures fantastic natural, clean, classic photographs.

Giovana wore a polka dot gown designed by Anaessia. Her bridesmaids wore peach gowns from Jasmine Boutique.

Giovana and Elliot held their wedding celebrations at The Zest in the Spit. Giovana recalls “Just amazing for a more intimate party. It is in an incredible location, with harbour views, huge balcony and right size for everyone to be able to see each other as the party goes.”

One of Giovana’s favourite decorations was the masses of flowers hanging from the ceiling.

Of their photographer, Giovana notes, “Matt Reed was a great find. In fact, a photographer guest suggested his name. His style was just what we wanted: Photographing as the things happened without posing, just natural shots all the time.”

One of Giovana’s favourite memories was,” The few seconds Elliot and I watch the whole party happening from the balcony, just the two of us watching our wedding party going on. ”

Instead of wedding cake, Giovana and Elliot asked Passionate8 Catering to create a dessert buffet for guests to enjoy.

For their first dance Giovana explains “We wanted to have something Brazilian. So we choose a bossa nova sang by amazing bossa nova solo singer, Sydney sider Anna Salleh, as our beautiful first dance. We also had some previous dance classes with lovely and patient Benny at Crows Nest Dance Centre.

Giovana’s final happy moment? The grand exit! “The boat taxi picking us up to say good bye to the guests from the water.”

Congratulations Giovana and Elliot! Thank you for sharing your wedding day with us! Thank you also to Matt Reed  for today’s images!
