Hooray! it’s the second Friday of the month, which means it’s Polka Dot Sneak Peek time! (also known as, the day when I get to pour over your plans and gush, because I like to gush!)
Today I wanted to focus on something that can fun, traditional, coloured, white, fluffy, sleek, modern, princessy- whatever you want it to be! So tell me lovely Dotties, what does your wedding gown look like? Do you have a link? Is it what you thought you’d choose? Who is the designer? Where did you find it? Tell me the details!
Here’s my dress for next weekend!! Whooohoooo 🙂

Whoops!!
Oo Laura are you wearing the Vera Wang Diana? http://www.white-thread.com/vera-wang-diana-jose-villa I ADORE that gown! There is something utterly astoundingly about that beautiful skirt! I am dying to see your photos!
It’s been a big week for my wedding dress. I’ve finalised the design with the dressmaker, had my measurements taken and now she’s buying the fabric and putting together a calcio mock-up. It’s so exciting to see it come together, step by step! I’m having it made by an incredibly talented and lovely lady who works from home. She only takes on jobs that she enjoys so she isn’t under the pressure that bridal stores are and can take the time, effort and attention to detail to ensure everything is perfect. She has been unbelievably helpful throughout the process so far, offering suggestions for things I wouldn’t have even thought of and even where the best place is to buy my wedding lingerie! Can’t wait for my first fitting in a few weeks time!
Sarah that is SO exciting! The calico mockup is such an exciting step of the dress making experience!
Who is your dressmaker? she sounds like she is wonderful! Do share the next steps of the process as they occur!
Her name is Leisa and I would honestly recommend her to anyone in Perth. Not only does she completely “get” my vision for my dress, she also gets that I want to feel comfortable and free to dance/eat/sit down etc and is full of helpful suggestions as to how to achieve that. She really listens to what you want and is wonderful to work with – we chat non stop and she feels like a friend rather than a supplier. I’ve found myself feeling stressed and under pressure in the bridal stores and Leisa is just the opposite- she makes you feel completely at ease, gives you as much time as you need and nothing is too much trouble. She really cares about her work and making people’s dreams come true, I just know she is going to do an exceptional job. I’ll keep you posted 🙂
I’m going to come knocking on your door for her details if I have brides asking for a Perth dressmaker!
I think suppliers who feel like frie4nds are really the best kind- you can completely trust that they will do the right thing by you. I’m so thrilled you’ve found someone who has made the experience so wonderful for you!
absolutely loved my dress. i want to wear it again 🙂

It’s a Maggie Sottero gown and I bought it from Dion for Brides in Leederville, Perth.
Didn’t think I’d get something with a train, but it was flowy and beautiful!
Carlien oh that is gorgeous! I love the asymmetrical neckline and the sweet ruffle down it.
I must say i do like a train too (how often do you wear a train really? never?)
Ps I think you could totally shorten and dye that beauty and wear her again!
Hi! I’m still in love with my dress! It’s from Mori Lee. First I did’nt want such a big dress because I am small but it was absolutly MY Dress. Here are two pictures for you.

I’ve heard so many stories of brides buying completely different gowns to what they envisaged! I think thew gowns almost pick the brides!
Really love how that gown comes in at the waist and has such a pretty skirt! What a beautiful dress (I am loving spying on your gowns!)
This is my amazing dress thanks to the gorgeous Mandy at Savvy Brides. I can’t recommend her highly enough – she made the whole experience so lovely! I’m styling the dress with a belt (her suggestion) which just finishes it perfectly. So excited … it will be a year of restraint not to wear it!

Yay Lex! We love Mandy, she is so lovely! (I love seeing gowns loved again too!)
Your dress is GORGEOUS! I love the texture of it! I love how it looks with a belt in the first photo too, so I think it’s definitely the right choice! Beautiful!
I’m getting married next February, and have already picked the dress! I had a ‘window shopping’ day out with my Mum, and just happened to try it on for fun – immediately I knew it was IT, and it was nothing like the ideas I’d had in my head.

The back is my favourite part – it just hangs so nicely and the best part was the price… under $1000 🙂
