A Wedding Day Spectacle

by | Accessories, Bride

A bride in glasses is a rare sight (ha) and I’m still not sure why. I love seeing a bride rocking her spectacles and being able to see clearly on the wedding day! Whether it’s hip and modern, a little retro, or just your normal every day style- it looks beautiful and so very “them”.

You needn’t buy a new pair if you love what you wear every day. But I did pick out some bridalesque white and clear frames from Clearly Contacts. They’re neutral and tone in with a white wedding gown.

But I am personally loving the contrast of the bold and brights! (Also from Clearly Contacts)

Thank you so much – there is no way I’m NOT wearing glasses but trying to find a hairstyle thats not too secretarial… Love the pics 🙂

Such a great article – I wish I had been cool enough to rock my glasses on my wedding day. Some brides look so sassy and stylish in their spectacles…sadly not me x

I ended up wearing glasses for my wedding after agonizing over it for the whole year! I am so glad that I did. I felt comfortable and looked like me. Since I wear them every day I think it would have been strange not wearing them. I know it is a hard decision for a bride to make though – those pictures are forever! All I can say is do what feels right for you! But don’t be put off wearing glasses just because you feel as if a bride shouldn’t wear them xxx

Thank you so much Ms Polka Dot for this feature and all he brides comments, I got myself in a right tiz recently about wearing my glasses on my big day. I’ve wore my glasses since I was 3 and they are a part of me but you very rarely see images of Brides wearing glasses and after trying my wedding dress on I got upset. I felt I didn’t look like a bride because of my glasses and felt my modern frames just did not suit my vintage dress. I was actually thinking of not wearing them although I knew I would not look like me and not feel comfortable. After seeing the gorgeous images and reading the comments above you have all gave me confidence to be proud to wear them and look for a frame more suited to my dress. Thank you!

Angela that is such a wonderful comment and warmed my heart today. You will rock your glasses and look every bit the beautiful bride you are! That I am sure of!

Thank you so much for putting this up. I tried contacts and they don’t work for me. I felt gutted but you have inspired me! But I am treating myself to new frames as have not had a new pair in 5years!
