As a self confessed sticky beak, I love to see what’s going on in other people’s lives. So here’s a sneak peek at the life of the Polka Dot team! Well, at least when we’re not behind our computer screens!

We had our first official Christmas party in 2011 at a beautiful vineyard. All the polka dot kidlets came (as did husbands!) and we dined in the sunshine, drinking bubbles and wine. The winning dish of the day was definitely the chocolate mousse which was sprinkled with a myriad of delights, including popcorn!

December is always my favourite time for mail in the Polka Dot office and  I had to make a few trips to carry this load of festive greetings! They were so beautiful and took pride of place on our “Christmas Card String”. I, of course, had to try out Ms Gingham’s cherry mojito. The mojito was my summer drink of 2012!

To celebrate our five year Polka Dot Bride birthday, I asked Mr Polka Dot to make me a cake. He said “Okay, you’re the client you need to give me a brief!” “polka dots and pink”. This is his chocolate creation which we washed down with bubbles!

My local gardening store was selling polka dot birds, so I bought one (of course!). We were delighted with a sweet cupcake treat from Peter Rowland Catering to announce their 2012 bridal showcase.

Ms Gingham here! Speaking of gardening, for me, this Christmas marked the beginning of a major undertaking at home. What began as a “hey let’s put some concrete pathways down, ended with “OMG, we have a massive pile of dirt in the middle of our backyard which we need to get rid of before Christmas day when all of our relatives will be here for Chris’s (Master Gingham’s) name day!”. Photos below document the manic way we spent the week before Christmas!

The previously mentioned pile of dirt needs to be moved but not after a retaining wall was built and agi pipe laid.

After much toiling, sweating and sunburn the finished result! Just in time for Christmas! Yes that’s new turf, plants, mulch and weedcloth!!!!

As a tribute to my father who passed away in 2011 and who loved his garden, especially his tomatoes, I planted these beauties. Now I’m planning some tomato chutney!
