Kristy and Ross

I have a thing for citrus right now, I am eating oranges like they’re going out of style (and technically they are, being that we’re heading into Summer and all!) so I adored this sweet mandarin orchard engagement session that took place just outside Sydney from Nattnee Photography.

Kristy, our bride to be explained how she and Ross met, “Ross and I have been together for about three and a half years but we have known each other for a lot longer than that. We actually went to the same primary and high schools – albeit I was in the grade above Ross! We got to know each other working together after school at McDonalds and became friends over the years. We both worked there whilst at school and then when we were both at university. After we both left that job, Ross moved away and we lost touch for a few years – although I remained in contact with one of his mates, Arthur that I was also friends with from school.

In early 2007 my best friend Michelle was moving to London and having a big farewell party in the city. Michelle invited Arthur to her farewell and Arthur in turn brought Ross along with him and we ‘re-met’ each other and started dating.

Ross proposed to me after I returned from a week long work trip to Adelaide (he must have missed me!). We went kayaking from The Spit out to Middle Harbour. Ross told me later that he had used ‘Google Earth’ to find the perfect secluded beach to propose on, but he must have viewed pictures taken at low tide- because there were no beaches in sight! We had lunch on some rocks and Ross proposed on bended knee with a hand drawn design of the most perfect engagement ring. He also gave me his grand mother’s engagement ring to wear whilst my ring was made – I accepted with a bit of a tear and a lot of excitement and I made phone calls to all of our friends and family on the way back whilst Ross had to paddle the kayak by himself!”
