Joanie & TIm

An urban engagement session today from the sunny state of Brisbane! Today’s couple Joanie and Tim were originally headed to a coffee shop but their plans ground to a halt when it closed! Instead, their photographer took them to some unexpected places – leading to gorgeous photos full of colour with a grunge edge.

Joanie tells the story of how she met Tim. “Tim and I met in Uni when we studied the same course together. We were introduced by a mutual friend and 7 months of friendship later (and a few sneaky moves from Tim), we started dating officially. When we first met, Tim would often come over to my house to ‘borrow’ textbooks (I later found out that he already owned them) and we had lots of ‘study sessions’ together.

We’d been dating for 5 years when Tim proposed to me in December last year. It was a special and thoughtful surprise that he’d planned with lots of tea-light candles, fairy lights and many, many photos that we’d taken over the years – in my very own backyard!

Currently, we’re planning for our wedding on the 31st of July this year. Our vision for our wedding is that we want it to reflect us with lots of vibrant, personal touches. Tim and I share a love for things with a slight vintage and rustic feel and we hope to incorporate this into our wedding (Polkadotbride has certainly provided lots of inspiration for this!!). We’ve got a wonderful bunch of extremely willing friends who have helped us with numerous DIY projects, which I’m sure will make the day even more special. We’re very excited!”
