Cassie and Tony

When I say today’s Sunshine Coast wedding (or technically vow renewal) is full of sunshine, what I mean is – it’s full of yellow, glorious yellow and smiles and love and laughter which to me, is the perfect way to spend a wintery day! (Or if you’re reading from the Northern Hemisphere, perhaps a lovely way to head into summer days!). I will admit, I first fell in love with Cassie’s gorgeous Samantha Wills earrings (I own the same ones in coral) but then, the whole wedding has that same glamorous, beachy vibe!

Cassie says “We met in Las Vegas through mutual friends.  I was on a holiday with girlfriends and Tony was in Las Vegas for an event.  Tony lived in Los Angeles and I lived in Australia.  Eventually I moved to Los Angeles and we lived in LA exclusively, for a few years.  We now live between Australia and Los Angeles. Our first wedding (Just us – no family and friends) was in Las Vegas.  A beautiful evening ceremony at The Venetian, followed by an intimate dinner at Tao.” For their Australian “Wedding”, Cassie and Tony held their ceremony at Palm Beach, Novotel Twin Waters Resort and their reception at Lily’s on the Lagoon, Novotel Twin Waters Resort.

For their Australian wedding, Cassie paired yellow Samantha Wills earrings with a gown custom made by a friend, based on a Dior dress worn by Eva Mendes at the Golden Globes. She carried a bouquet of yellow blooms by Blooms Of Noosa.

Cassie’s bridesmaids wore custom made gowns in pale yellow. Cassie says “The whole day was just amazing.  Our closest friends and family were all there to celebrate our marriage with us and that meant the world to us.  Even though we were already married, people still treated it as if it were our “proper” wedding.   Our dream for the day was to have all of our friends and family there, to celebrate, have great drinks, wonderful food, lots of laughter and of course lots of dancing.  I think we achieved that!” Cassie walked down the aisle to  Luther Vandross featuring Mariah Carey  “Endless Love”.

There were plenty of personal touches throughout the day, Cassie explains “We had a beach and starfish theme which featured from the save the date magnets and invitations, right through to the favours.  Our favourite drinks are Lychee Martini’s (Cassie) and Margarita’s (Tony) so we had those as our specialty cocktails at the reception.  Tony is from the US and I’m Australian so we had a lolly station with both US lollies/Candy and Australian lollies.”

Cassie and Tony’s reception was relaxed, laid back and full of laughter. Cassie shares one of her favourite moments”Tony and I love to have fun and most importantly love to dance.  We both didn’t like the idea of spending an entire song dancing slow so we started off with Whitney Houston’s “I will always love you” as a bit of a joke, then it suddenly stopped after about a minute and we busted out into Justin Timberlake’s “Summer Love”.  That is when the bridal party joined us.  Instead of slow dancing we all got down!”

Congratulations Cassie and Tony on your wedding! Thank you for sharing it with us today on Polka Dot Bride! Thank you to Calli of Calli B Photography for allowing us to share the beautiful imagery!
