Sarah & Steve
Today’s wedding is full of glamour and style! A winter wedding (my favourite wedding season!) held in the city (Melbourne), a first look, no veil and one of the most stunning gowns!
The couple met on a blind date setup by mutual friends seven years ago. At a little Italian restaurant they talked all night (though Steve argues that Sarah talked and he listened!). A romantic proposal followed seven years later on a cliff top overlooking the ocean.
Sarah and Steve chose to look at their wedding like a big party, as soon afterward they would be moving out of the city to their farm. So they decided their wedding was the perfect opportunity to send them on their way in style!

Steve wore his father’s Georg Jensen cufflinks.
With the couple owning their own vineyard, it was only natural they would serve a few bottles of their own grapes on their wedding day!
Steve and his groomsmen got ready at Melbourne’s Westin hotel, while Sarah and her bridesmaid got prepared at Sarah’s family home.
Sarah wore shoes from Xiomara and had a couture gown designed by Jane Hill. Her gown featured a French silk tulle overlay, jewelled bodice and jewelled back straps.
Sarah’s grandmother made a beautiful hanger for Sarah’s wedding gown which included original seed pearl beads and fabric from her own wedding gown.
One of the funnier moments of Sarah’s wedding day was trying to get the top button done up on her wedding gown, her dad even came to help with a set of pliers!
One of Sarah’s ‘must have’ shots was taken on the quilt her mother had made for her 24th birthday.
Winter bouquets of white seasonal blooms including hyacinths, lisianthus, roses, freesias) were by Fat Tulip Flower Merchants. The bridesmaids bouquets featured cornflower blue flowers to match their gowns.
Instead of a veil, Sarah’s hairdresser Ralph of Ralph Hair Studio pushed ivory blooms (including tuber roses, hyacinths and freesias) into her hairstyle.
Sarah’s bridesmaids wore different gowns in cornflower blue from Stellini
Sarah met Steve in the foyer of the Westin hotel for their first look. Sarah says it felt like her heart was about to explode out of her chest.
The couple spent time in the hotel bar with their bridal party and a glass of champagne! It was a lovely way for them to ease their nerves and have some quiet time together before the wedding proceedings began.
They then had photos taken around Melbourne’s city square and the hotel
Next it was off to the ceremony!
Check back later today for the formal proceedings and the gorgeous restaurant reception!
