The happy colours of raspberry and lemon spring to mind here with touches of soft grey in furry plant leaves, such as Artemesia or lambs ears. With a background of off-white or soft cream, add raspberry and lemon in sashes, shoes and flowers. This colour scheme can be sleek and modern, with raspberry as the main colour and lemon and pearl grey as the accents. Or bring out the old fashioned girl in you – think lemon ballerina length full skirted dresses in lemon chiffon with raspberry sashes and shoes, or bridesmaids frocks in a 1920’s flapper style embellished with beading.
Flower girls in raspberry or lemon fairy dresses with wands and headbands of sparkles in the other colour, jewels of raspberry gem stones surrounded by sparkles, raspberry coloured candles set amongst soft lemon flowers. Think frangipani (plumeria) – especially the variety that has the raspberry pink flowers with touches of yellow in the petals, orchids, daisies, snap dragons, roses such as ‘Raspberry Ice’ or ‘Sutter’s Gold’, even some varieties of ginger plants.
Desserts of raspberry or lemon ice creams, sorbets, tarts, sauces, big bowls of raspberries or jellies. Sour lemon sweets or sherbets as favours, raspberry jam or lemon butter – homemade of course presented in pretty old fashioned jars.
Lots of silver ware on tables for the glitter effect, soft lemon napkins tied with raspberry coloured ribbon, lemon chair covers or cushions with raspberry piping and your boys sporting lemon or raspberry socks!
Those two words always make me drool! “FRENCH MARTINI!” Yum! It’s totally my all time favorite drink. Give it a try ladies!
So many great ideas! I love the colour combination of raspberry, lemon and pearl grey. Lemon butter as favours – yum yum yum.
This has been our favorite cocktail for years now and we decided months ago when we started the planning process that this would be our signature cocktail. Glad to see it posted 🙂
Beautiful inspiration story!
