Today’s wedding is the beautiful celebration of Jojo and Peter! Jojo and Peter met while working at an architecture firm together in Brisbane. Although it wasn’t love at first site, the couple developed a mutual respect and friendship for each other which blossomed into romance.
Peter proposed after a day on the beach at the Gold Coast and the couple wed six months later.
Jojo and Peter married at Graceville Uniting Church in Graceville, Queensland (chosen for it’s Inter-war Gothic style architecture) and celebrated at Venice Cafe & Restaurant, Brisbane (chosen for it’s river view frontage and venetian like decoration).
Jojo and Peter chose a colour palette of apricot, chocolate and cream for their wedding day and had family pitch in and help. Jojo’s gown was bought as a gift from her mother and sister from a shop in Malaysia, her earrings were her mothers, the stationery was made with the help of friends using their PJ insignia.
The couple chose photographer Todd Hunter McGaw to capture their wedding day.
Just married! Jojo walked up the aisle to the “Forrest Gump Suite” and once married the couple walked down the aisle to “Joyful, Joyful”.
The traditional tea ceremony was held after the ceremony at Sherwood Park. The couple had two wedding favors- the bride’s favourite tea at the wedding ceremony and the groom’s favourite chocolate the the wedding reception.
Beautiful bouquets in shades of cream and apricot by Lush Blooms. Jojo’s maid of honour chose her dress in Singapore while the bridesmaids gowns were purchased from a Brisbane boutique.
The wedding cake was a gift from Peter’s mother and made by Tiffany’s Specialty Cakes.
The couple danced to ‘Your Love’ by Jim Brickman and Michelle Wright.
Thank you to Jojo and Peter for allowing Polka Dot Bride to share your beautiful wedding day! I wish you all the joy and happiness in the world for your lives together!
