I have the sweetest wedding to share with you today! This is the wedding of Emalie and Jonathan who married in Dallas last October. The vintage chic wedding featured polka dots and was captured by Scott and Tem Photography who the couple hired after falling in love with their candid and photo journalistic style.
Emalie kicked off the polka dot theme with gorgeous black and white Betsey Johnson shoes and a birdcage veil from Unveiled Bridal Designs
The couple saw each other before the ceremony to capture the beautiful light. Emalie’s gorgeous 3/4 length dress was made by a local French designer Elle Et Lui Designs while the groom wore a suit by local Italian designer Alberto Cercone Designs.
The ceremony was held in the sculpture garden of the Arts District Banquet Facility of the Trammell Crow Building in downtown Dallas.
Emalie’s bridesmaid wore a J.Crew gown and flowers were by Dream Day Consulting
All the stationery- invitations, ceremony programs, menus, favor tags and escort cards were polka dot themed and designed by Emalie’s brother Anthony Bearden
Gyros String Quartet played during the ceremony. The couple weren’t fussed about the music and told the quartet to just play appropriate music. Emalie says “They did a great job too!…everyone was raving about them”
Just married!
After the ceremony, the party headed upstairs for the reception.
The couples dog Biscuit was present on the day through a photo on the guest book table instructing guests to sign their best wishes.
Erika from Conceptions in Cake created the gorgeous polka dot wedding cake. Guests received caramel apples for a treat.
Emalie had her florist use guinea feathers in the centre pieces and bouquets to add polka dots.
The couple hired a photobooth from Create The Memories Photo Booth. The photos were pasted into a book where guests wrote messages for the couple.
The most terrifying moment of the night was the first dance. Neither of the couple are good dancers so after three seconds of “fake dancing” and much laughter they left the dancing to their guests!
The venue banned sparklers so Emalie and Jonathan had guests send them off with glow sticks!
Thank you Emalie and Jonathan for sharing your gorgeous wedding on Polka Dot Bride!

The cake is divine! I love yellow and black. It’s such an unexpected wedding colour combination. Beautiful, stunning wedding. Thanks for sharing!
Hi! This is such a gorgeous blog/site. I was thrilled when I realised it was Australian too! Wish I’d found it before I got married. Well done 🙂
I love this wedding! I love the mix between vintage (veil, dress, shoes) and ultra modern – the photo of the building behind the set-up for the ceremony is just fab, so different! I often look at photos of weddings and think “ooh pretty” but this one makes me wish I was a guest 🙂
I’m a friend of Emalie’s, so seeing this in my inbox this morning made me squee quite a bit!
I love her veil and the colors… and her dress!
