Inspired by American themes and cultures, Daughters Of Simone are known for their free-spirited essence and love for the 70s vibe. Their latest collection, however? Inspired by Designer Brittany Castaños’s grandparents: “Moon River” by Henry Mancini. “Every time I hear it, I ache for them a little bit. They fell in love in the 1940s and so everything about them exuded that era; Crystal goblets and chandeliers, big band music, the way they set the table with cloth napkins, candles operas, and roses picked fresh from the garden my Grandpa labored over on Saturdays and pruned like religion,” she shares.
Situated in California’s San Joaquin Valley, Daughters Of Simon specialises in wedding gowns and suits, with silhouettes that reflect their blend of Western and Victorian influences. With Castaños’s background in Cultural Anthropology, her inspiration for collections highlights the stories of women who are often unseen and whose stories are often untold.
The “Moon River” collection is no different. Speaking to romance dipped in messy hair, sun-kissed skin, tightly wrapped arms and daydreams you never want to leave. Made from 100% silk with French corded lace trims, 70-inspired ruffles and Victorian-era box pleats. Captured by Dakota Lynn Photo and Melody Olivas, the fall/winter 2026 collection is born from a love generations built. With beautiful flowers from FleurElise Floral Studio and the stunning backdrop of Château du Sureau, each detail speaks to a timeless romance we adore.
“Their love story and this song are intertwined, woven stitches in my heart’s happiest memories. This collection was imagined and drafted while I was experiencing a love like theirs—the drenched-in-romance kind, the yearning, drifting, dreaming kind. The kind that lasts and that you never knew existed. But when you feel it, you say, ‘oh so THIS is how it is supposed to feel'”. – Brittany Castaños, designer of Daughters Of Simone.
