There’s just something about the light at golden hour, isn’t there? It’s hands down one of the best parts of a wedding day. The ceremony is done, everyone’s celebrating with drinks and good food, and a night of dancing is still ahead. And the light? Pure gold.
We wanted a cocktail that fits that feeling. It’s warm, easy, and has just enough sparkle to make it special. Enter the Golden Hour Whiskey Cocktail, inspired by our favourite time of any wedding day.
The finishing touch: golden citrus slices from our friends at Mixso Magic, who sent over their 24K golden citrus garnishes for us to play with. Nothing says golden hour like a little bit of unexpected bling after all!

- 45 ml whiskey (Irish, bourbon, or your favourite)
- 15 ml honey syrup (equal parts honey and hot water, cooled)
- 15 ml fresh lemon juice
- Ginger ale, to top
- Ice
- Dried lemon wheel or golden citrus slice (obviously, we recommend these gold slices, which we used in our shoot!)

- Garnish with a dried lemon wheel or a golden citrus slice.
