For Brooke and Sean, timeless romance came to life beneath the leafy canopy of Carrick Hill‘s Elms Terrace Garden. With a soft, champagne-toned palette, delicate florals and meaningful heirloom details, their wedding was as elegant as it was heartfelt. With photography by the ever-talented Shana Louise and cinematography by The Wedding Creators, prepare to fall in love with every golden-hour moment!
Brooke and Sean met like so many other modern couples – on Tinder! “We hit it off instantly – messaging late into the night as the conversation flowed effortlessly. Before long, Sean asked if I’d like to meet for a breakfast date the very next morning. He didn’t waste any time, and honestly, I loved that. We met at The Feed in Glenelg and spent the entire morning laughing and chatting like we’d known each other for years. Neither of us wanted the date to end, so Sean suggested we grab a juice at another Cafe nearby. I later found out he actually hates juice! He just wanted an excuse to keep spending time with me. Even after that, we still weren’t ready to say goodbye, so we ended the day with a walk along the Jetty. It was effortless, fun, and the perfect beginning to our story.”
Flash forward four years, and the duo were enjoying their trip in Hong Kong, where Sean grew up – and he had one last trick up his sleeve to end their trip on a high note. “Having grown up there, he was so excited to show me the places that shaped his childhood, from his old house to the school he once attended,” Brooke explained. “He had planned everything so thoughtfully. We stayed at the iconic Peninsula Hotel, where on the evening of my 29th Birthday, he arranged a private in-room dinner, where we dined overlooking the infamous “Symphony of Lights”, a stunning show where buildings across the skyline of Victoria Harbour light up in perfect harmony. It was in that magical moment that Sean got down on one knee and proposed. I was completely overwhelmed with happiness – it was romantic, heartfelt, and so perfectly us. Of course, I said yes immediately!”
Sean chose a charming navy suit from Peter Shearer paired with a waistcoat, a crisp white shirt and a tie. His wedding party also wore navy Peter Shearer suits, with soft champagne ties, and matching watches that Sean had gifted them all that morning.
Sean wore his late grandfather’s ring, keeping his memory right on that heart line. Brooke’s grandmother was unable to attend the wedding, so she gave Brooke a beautiful brooch to pin to her bouquet so she could still be part of the day. “It was a meaningful way for both of us to honour loved ones who couldn’t be there, but were with us in every moment.”
Brooke wore the stunning Armeria gown by Alena Leena, sourced through The Bride Lab. “The moment I slipped it on, I just knew – it was the dress. It felt effortlessly romantic and timelessly elegant. I was especially drawn to the long sleeves and the delicate detailing on the bodice,” she shared.
“My experience with The Bride Lab was truly wonderful. Their genuine care, attention to detail, and regular updates throughout the entire process made me feel so supported.”
Her wedding party wore beautiful champagne midi dresses from St Frock, with their looks perfected by the gold and pearl accessories.
Elms Terrace Garden in Carrick Hill was the perfect venue for their wedding ceremony. “Saying our vows beneath the towering trees, and surrounded by the stunning natural gardens, provided the perfect backdrop for our vows. Our wedding photos were also taken in this beautiful setting. Shana captured every detail so beautifully, highlighting the warmth, intimacy, and natural beauty that made the day feel truly magical.”
All of their soft florals were curated by the talented Emma Kate – full of blooming white roses, baby’s breath and carnations. “I discovered her through a simple Google search for local florists near Carrick Hill, and was instantly impressed by her stunning portfolio and presence on social media. We met in person to discuss the seasonal blooms available for my March wedding, and her guidance was invaluable,” Brooke explained.
“For my bouquet, I chose an elegant all-white arrangement, accented with soft greenery. My bridesmaids carried slightly smaller versions of my bouquet, with the addition of sahara roses for a touch of subtle, romantic colour.”
Brooke walked down the aisle with her dad, as “Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Haley Reinhart played. “I remember him holding my arm and saying, ‘Let’s go for a little walk.’ It is a moment I will cherish forever.”
This was the moment that stuck with Sean the most from the whole day. “Having all of our family, friends and loved ones all with us there to celebrate our love for one another was fantastic. But for me, I think the moment that plays over and over in my head was Brooke walking down the aisle,” he shared.
“With “Can’t Help Falling In Love” in the background, I got my first glimpse of Brooke in her stunning dress as she appeared through the pear arbour. Butterflies in my stomach, I was overwhelmed with emotions, as this was it, the moment we had been waiting for. As I locked eyes with her, I couldn’t help but smile, as she smiled back at me.”
Sean’s former school chaplain, Father Theo, officiated the ceremony, adding a beautiful touch of familiarity as he shared heartfelt bible readings.
Brooke and Sean couldn’t have had a better photographer to capture their day than the talented Shana Louise. “From the moment we met, she made us feel completely at ease and understood our vision perfectly. On the day of the wedding, she was calm, professional, and somehow everywhere at once! Capturing every special moment without ever being intrusive.
The photos are absolutely breathtaking. They perfectly reflect the love, joy, and magic of the day. Every time we look through our gallery, we’re transported back to those beautiful moments – especially the candid shots and the golden hour portraits, which are simply stunning. Shana Louise has an incredible eye for detail and a true gift for storytelling. We will cherish these photos for a lifetime.”
This romantic wedding couldn’t have happened without their vendor dream team, and Brooke and Sean hand-picked the perfect team to bring their day to life. “We feel incredibly fortunate to have worked with such an amazing team of vendors to bring our special day to life. Each and every one of them went above and beyond, and their passion, professionalism, and dedication truly made our day unforgettable,” Brooke explained.
“A highlight was the menu tasting at The Pavilion, Carrick Hill. It was truly exceptional – every dish was delicious, and the experience only added to our excitement for the big day!”
Their reception was held at The Pavilion at Carrick Hill, with the help of the incredible event staff. “The event managers and wait staff were exceptional, ensuring we and our guests were looked after throughout the entire day and night. The food was delicious and served promptly, with a thoughtfully curated beverage selection that everyone enjoyed. The evening flowed seamlessly, with every special moment unfolding exactly as planned. The Pavilion also provides one of the best views of Adelaide!”
Sean was the master of DIY for their reception setup, hanging all the lighting himself, designing the mesh feature wall and hanging the neon signage. “Sean even stuck Decal stickers onto a large arch mirror that greeted our guests as they walked into the reception area.”
For Brooke, the real showstopper of their reception was their incredible wedding cake made by Sugar and Spice Cakes! “Adorned with the most stunning floral details and topped with a classic bride and groom figurine – it was not only beautiful but also delicious!” she gushed.
“Another special detail we chose is that instead of a traditional guest book, we had a Polaroid photo album where each guest could snap a fun photo of themselves and leave a heartfelt note alongside it. It was such a joyful way to capture the love and laughter of the day – and now we have a beautiful keepsake filled with smiling faces and sweet messages to remember everyone who celebrated with us.”
With only a few weeks before the wedding, Brooke and Sean began practising their first dance, right in their living room. “We followed YouTube tutorials, counted our steps, and laughed the whole way through. Our first dance will always hold a special place in our hearts. Surrounded by all our loved ones, hearing them sing along to “Until I Found You” Piano Version by Stephen Sanchez, was an unforgettable moment.”
Thanks to Shana Louise Photography for sharing these photos with us, and a huge congratulations to Brooke and Sean!
