Happy Monday Dotties! It’s high summer and if you’re considering a wedding (or have already set your wedding date for February), it’s time to think of hot weather comforts. If you’re having your ceremony and reception outside, shade, long refreshingly cold drinks to sip on during the ceremony, fans, plenty of water or juice stations, parasols and even juicy fruit like watermelon and pineapple will keep your guests hydrated. The cherry on top would be an icecream/sorbet station for that ultimate icy treat.
Take a look at our trusted Aussie vendors in our Polka Dot Directory and our Honeymoon Directory who would love to work with you and offer their support and expertise. Choose from Venues and Celebrants. We also have Flowers, Wedding Planners and Pre Wedding Parties, and check out our Honeymoon Directory – for services in Australia and overseas.

Stationery is the ‘starter’ to the wedding day – setting the tone and theme of what is to come. For a guest, receiving a beautifully designed and coloured invitation suite will have them wondering and intrigued about your wedding day – and will build the anticipation of what is to come.
Using her many talents for paperware design, Natalie of A Tactile Perception specialises in hand painted designs, using “textured and coloured card, unique shapes, and handmade cotton paper (that) will add an extra layer of luxury”. With a focus on quality and excellent customer service, let Natalie guide you with fully customisable designs which tell your story in your unique way.
Let’s get to know Natalie of A Tactile Perception a little better:
Weddings are the best to work on because….
Everyone is feeling super loved-up, and we’re all working towards putting our heart and soul in to making this the BEST DAY EVER for our couples. Weddings are the height of creativity, because many of the suppliers are creating something from scratch for the couple, with a particular aesthetic in mind. Seeing pictures from the day always gives me goosebumps!
What is something people would be surprised to know about your job or something that challenges you about your job?
I think that people would be surprised to know just how much work goes into the stationery for the day. There are multiple pieces, like invitations, and place cards and menus, and even large signage. Then there’s all the design work and the communication with the couple. It’s absolutely a labour of love!
What is it about the creative process that you most enjoy?
The creative process for me is a journey, because it’s the actual execution and revision process that shapes the final product, so that you always get something in the end that is not exactly how you imagined. I love that beautiful surprise when the final product comes to life!
What are you hilariously bad at?
Keeping plants alive, unfortunately. My husband bought me a rose bush for my birthday, and I think it was dead within the week. I didn’t even do anything to it! I could never be a wedding florist!
When you were small what did you dream of being and where have those dreams taken you?
I dreamed of being a graphic designer, and my life has taken twists and turns to get here but now I’m living those dreams.
