Glittering Glam Wedding in Melbourne

Have you ever seen a wedding that fits the couple more than today’s glamorous celebrations?! Every aspect of this wedding was full of glitter, traditions and modern Pakistani flair. When Neha and Sufian planned their wedding, they had one goal in mind: to create a fun night full of music and love. Thanks to Belos Photography, MJ Productions and Films with Saanya, we get to share this beautiful celebration from every angle!

While they have a modern love story, Sufian and Neha didn’t meet on a dating app – instead, this story started with an Instagram DM! “Sufian then flew to Sydney from Melbourne to see me a month after we started talking. We connected immediately! It was like I had known him for my entire life and the rest is now history!”

Sufian surprised Neha with a trip to a new restaurant she’d wanted to try and cemented it as one of her favourite spots when he got down on one knee and proposed! “Our proposal was on a rooftop in Southbank Melbourne, and it was honestly one of the most beautiful days of my life. I thought we were going to a new restaurant I had been wanting to try, but I was surprised by the most sentimental and special proposal. We followed the perfect night with some Italian food (our favourite!).”

These beautiful, sleek invitations were designed by Neha herself! “I designed our thank you card and our wedding invitations myself! I was so obsessed with them, we made them match our welcome sign and floor decal too.”

Sufian wore a glam custom-made suit from Institchu in a creamy colour with stark black accents. “He had a wonderful experience and absolutely loved his tux! They added so many sweet details to the suit that made it his dream wedding suit,” she explained.

One of Neha’s favourite details of this glittering glam wedding was the custom embroidery inside Sufian’s suit! “He had my name on his sleeve as well as our initials and wedding date on the inside of his jacket,” she shared. “I also had our initials and wedding date on my bridal robe. I was obsessed with these details.”

Getting ready with her mum and sister was definitely Neha’s favourite moment of the day. “We have so many stories from this morning. We had so much fun; the atmosphere was filled with so much joy and so much love, getting our makeup and hair done together with our favourite tunes. It was honestly so perfect, and these moments are forever in my memory.”

Neha was the vision of a modern Pakistani bride in her mermaid-cut glittering gown. Its peachy pink colour was the perfect choice, and with the help of the team at Ilsa By Samsara, her dream dress came to life! “They really made my vision come to life. I chose to wear this to really connect with my culture and my love for the handwork and elements in Pakistani clothing. As a family, my mum would always put my sister and me in Pakistani clothing to really connect with our rich culture. I find that so beautiful.”

Some of their favourite photos from the day were these shots running through the hotel corridor. “It was just such a fun memory and the outcome was stunning!”

Belin from Belos Photography was the talent behind the lens for this glam wedding. “She was absolutely incredible! Belin made us feel so comfortable and so happy throughout our day, everything just felt so perfect. I showed her our vision, and she did her magic!”

All these beautiful peachy faux flowers were styled by the team from Glow Melbourne Events! “They were absolutely stunning, we wanted peachy neutrals with a touch of green and our event decorator delivered!”

Their venue for the reception was Lakeside Banquet & Convention Centre, perfectly complimenting their glittering glam vibe. “The smaller room being newly renovated was a hit for our guests and our vision.”

While they didn’t have a traditional wedding party, Neha and Sufian told their family to wear whatever they felt comfortable in. And it worked out perfectly as everyone wore matching tones that looked great together!

For their first dance, Neha and Sufian chose “Young and Beautiful” by Lana Del Rey as their song. “We have always loved this song, and it was so special having our dance to it. It means a lot to us because we dream of a forever love, even when we are older and lost our youthful beauty.”

The top four things that made their glittering glam wedding so special were:

4. Waking up together and having breakfast together was the most perfect morning to our beautiful day.”

The main goal of Neha and Sufian’s glam wedding was to make it a modern Pakistani celebration. “Our favourite tradition was definitely the “joota chupai” which was conducted at the end of the night. This translates to “hiding the shoe” my brother has stolen Sufian’s shoe and in exchange for it back there was a negotiation to get that money!! It was so fun and the negotiations took almost an hour haha!”
