1. Charlotte – McMahons Point

This new bar and bistro offers three distinct spaces – two private dining rooms plus a dedicated function room – for your special events; all with a hint of French heritage. The Nocture and The Lumiere rooms are twinning in design with marble fireplaces, intimate dining tables, and gilt-edged accents. But you can choose between them for a moody charcoal or a classic white colour palette (we like it dark!) The function space is roomier, channelling a fancy boardroom with wooden panelling, break-out drawing room and an exclusive bar.

Perched atop the Kimpton Margot hotel is Sydney’s largest rooftop, Harper. It’s open air so you can soak up all of the delicious sunshine amid beach-club surrounds (yet conveniently placed in the city). Lucky, a faux tan looks extra special when you’re dressed in head-to-toe white. The space is in poolside pastels and tiny tiles giving off a laid-back retro style. We’d expect to see pop-up fresh seafood stations and many a glass of frosé passed over the pink bar at any party here.

3. The Villa Navarra – Southern Highlands

116 acres of countryside splendour could be all yours for the day. Nods to Tuscany – and 1000 olive trees – are here to set the scene. Wouldn’t personalised bottles of olive oil direct from the estate make a wonderful bonbonierre idea? With three different garden spots to choose from for your ceremony, it all feels super secluded at this lush Villa. Yet the 1.5 hour trip from Sydney CBD (or only a 45-minute drive from Woollongong) makes your escapist dreams manageable. Here’s to the perfetta day!

10. The Terrace – Darling Harbour

Pumphouse Sydney has revamped their Terrace space. They say it’s one of the greenest oases in the city and we won’t argue with that. Think real, leafy flora wherever you look, spots of natural light, and lungfuls of fresh air (all undercover so that rain is no pain). We like the idea of one long table to seat everyone for a languorous lunchtime reception or a cocktail party at sunset with garden party vibes among the vines. We’re pressing our breezy, head-to-toe linen outfits in anticipation.
