While the weather is cooler and we’re looking for thoughtful gift ideas, these beautiful balms fit the bill perfectly! Easy to make, gorgeous to use, and delightful as a sweet token of your love, our DIY hand and body balms are a brilliant guest favour for your wedding!
What You Will Need:
- Glass or tin containers to hold the moisturising balm
- Glass bowl, saucepan, mixing spoon, measuring cups and spoons, grater
- 1/2 cup shea butter, 1/4 cup almond oil, 2TBS beeswax, 20-30 drops essential oil
Step One
Lay out the containers for the balms, ensuring they are clean and dry, and easy to access once needed. Measure the shea butter and almond oil into a glass bowl. Grate the beeswax, and add to the mixture. Place the bowl over a saucepan of hot water, and once all the ingredients have melted, remove from heat. Once the mixture is off the heat, add in essential oils (we used half and half of lavender and peppermint), and stir to combine.
Step Two
The mixture will begin to cool, and as it does, it will harden. Moving quickly, carefully pour the balm into your chosen containers and allow the moisturising balm to completely set. Once the balm is set and cool, place the lid on and set aside until needed.
Our sweet hand and body balms would be perfect in a pamper goodie bag, with name tags attached on reception tables, or as a little thank you to your friends and family for helping on your big day. Make sure you keep some for yourself too – you won’t regret it!
