Dogs, babies and disco balls! Emily and Shae, who met on Tinder, wanted a wedding day that was all about party vibes and limited formalities.  With beautiful, soft neutral tones of coral peach and pink, even the rain (and a resulting rainbow) could not dampen the spirits of this beautiful country wedding captured by the Storytellers Wedding Co team.

As lovers of laid-back style, of course, Shae proposed at home after a nice dinner “with the help of our fur baby Levi” laughs Emily.

Emily and Shae chose Seacliff House for both their ceremony and reception. Says Emily  “The main non-negotiable for us was having a pet-friendly venue and we favoured those near the beach and BYO! Seacliff was a no-brainer.”

Emily walked  down the aisle with both of her parents to the sounds of “Silver” by the DMA’s.

Emily and Shae were lucky enough to have a friend become a celebrant before their big day, allowing them to be married by a loved one. Says Emily  “We wanted our ceremony to be short but sweet and personal. It was important for us to have an acknowledgment of country before any celebration taking place. We also wanted to read our vows. We were lucky enough that  a friend became a celebrant for our wedding so it felt natural and personal.”

Emily found her beautiful off-the-shoulder gown at Luv Bridal. “The dress-finding process was not my fave” she admits. “I had a clear vision of what I wanted and then in between getting engaged and married we had a baby so that all went out the window!! In the end, I just wanted to find something I was comfortable in not only looks wise, but to wear for a long time.”

“We used Storytellers Collective and honestly couldn’t fault them” raves Emily of their chosen photographers. “We aren’t naturals in front of the camera and they made us feel so comfortable. The photos and videos were so beautiful and natural which is what we wanted.”

Despite the rain (and resulting rainbow), Emily has one key piece of advice for those of you still to tie the knot. “Easier said than done, but try not to sweat the small stuff. Everything will be perfect on the day and you won’t even realise if little things don’t go well. Also, don’t stress about the weather!! I wasted so much energy worrying about that but the day was so perfect even with the rain.

I honestly think the rain helped bring everyone together in the end so wish I stressed less.”

The team that brought this dream of a wedding to life?  The Wedding and Event Creators! “Our vendors were all so incredible” exclaims Emily. “We were so lucky that everyone we decided to work with was not only so professional and great at their jobs but also just so nice and friendly. Everyone went above and beyond and we couldn’t be more grateful. The best decision we made was 100000% a coordinator! Especially having a bub in between I genuinely don’t know what I would have done without them. The whole day went so smoothly and the lead-up just made me so much calmer than I would’ve been. Also having a venue we could spend the weekend at was worth every cent.”

“We weren’t too particular, we were more about having fun and mingling as opposed to formalities. We just wanted to celebrate with our friends and family without too much structure or time pressure. The best part of the day was just seeing all of our family and friends together. It was incredible to see our worlds collide and see everyone in one place.”

“Our First Dance was “Move Together” by James Bay and consisted of just swaying” laughs Emily, “We’re definitely not dancers!”

A big beautiful congratulations to you both Emily & Shae. Thank you both and thank you to Storytellers Wedding Co for sharing today’s beautiful wedding with us.
