The art of flower preservation has really taken off over the last few years and rightly so! With a modern twist, the stunning handmade pieces of art that can be created from your gorgeous bouquet are truly magnificent. Your flowers play such an important and sentimental role on your special day (and are a lovely feature in your wedding photos afterward) that it only makes sense that you would want to have them preserved to last you a lifetime, rather than just a few days. Here are some handy tips in “Preserving Your Wedding Bouquet After The Big Day!” with Blooming Keepsake.
Flowers generally take up a large portion of your wedding budget and so why wouldn’t you want to invest a little extra to have them preserved, giving them a new, forever lease on life? Something for you to display in your home and look back on lovingly for years to come. When it comes to choosing the right professional to preserve your flowers, it is important to consider a few things first.
Points To Consider
• How much experience do they have and how long have they been in the industry?
• Are they a hobby artist or a professional business?
• Zoom in on their sample photos – do their flowers have translucent spots and flower damage?
• Do they use resins that have strong UV Inhibitors and protection coats?
• Does their artwork have microbubbles?
Flower preservation is a meticulous art that takes months and months to complete, with each and every step vital towards creating the perfect finished piece! So, it’s extremely important that you do your research beforehand and ensure you are choosing a trustworthy, reputable professional with high standards to complete this process for you.
Some handy tips – from us to you!
• Book in advance – due to the time and detail it takes with each and every wedding bouquet we can only accept a limited number of spots per week, so it’s important that you book in advance to avoid missing out.
• Follow our guidelines for flower care before, during, and after your wedding day. The fresher your flowers the better the result, so ensuring they are in the best possible condition is a must. (This means skipping the bouquet toss (or having a separate bouquet) as this can severely bruise/damage your blooms)
• Follow packing & sending instructions – If you are sending your blooms to us from out of state, make sure you follow our packing and sending instructions carefully. When the instructions are followed correctly there should be no reason that your flowers don’t arrive in a beautiful condition.
• Always send your flowers via express post on the next available business day after your wedding.
Once your flowers arrive at Blooming Keepsakes, our artists carefully begin by taking your floral arrangement apart before each flower is individually photographed, re-hydrated, colour matched, and analysed before being gently frozen to below-freezing temperatures ready for their preservation journey. What follows is a series of over 40 individual steps and processes, all done by hand, before finally being encapsulated in a stunning, crystal-clear acrylic, giving each bloom a new, forever lease on life.
Deciding to preserve your wedding day flowers is an incredible way to remember one of the most important days of your life. You are capturing a little piece in time that you can look back on for many years to come.
