You can imagine, when it came to planning a month of yellow wedding inspiration, just how much we may have squealed to see today’s editorial land in our inbox. Set on the streets of Fremantle, and captured beautifully by Christine Lim Photography this takes yellow and makes it unexpectedly moody. Deep black, and sculptural arrangements of vivid yellow wattle (including an incredible hairpiece) turn what is the hue of sunshine, into something much more dramatic.
Floral designer Jappalin of Flowertalk had the vision for this editorial. Her eye sought something fun, and a little alternative. The combination of yellow and black, modern and, offbeat and unequivocally stunning, made something magic. Says Christine “The styled shoot is a mix of modern against the vibrant heritage of the port city, Fremantle. With flowers in her hair, the shoot is sweet, simple and all about the couple.”
Model Brittney Morris wearing a stunning black mini dress, complete with a detachable train, made by Samantha Wynne. The bold lines of the attire are perfect against her sleek ponytail and dark makeup styled by Nicole Forde, making way for the floral hairpiece of yellow budding blooms. Groom Markus Shaidar, in keeping with the dramatic style of the day, wore a classic black tuxedo from Australian Formal Wear.
A lush backdrop of beautiful wattle acts as a contrast to the deep navy wall at Gimlet, the bar of Warders Hotel, before they celebrated with cake, a simple beauty by Petit Poh decorated, of course, with wattle. A classic yellow MG, adorned with yellow flowers the perfect way to ease our newlyweds outside the Hougoumont Hotel, to an afternoon of fun playing video games at Timezone Fremantle.
If you could never decide between moody tones, and the bright beauty of yellow, steal every idea from this one!
