It’s a brand new week, and today, we’re all about beautiful gowns; more specifically, the beautiful gowns of the Karen Willis Holmes. Today, we unveil the Australian designer’s brand new bespoke collection, entitled “Hera”.
Says Karen herself “For me, the balance between the structure of the silhouettes, juxtaposed by the fluidity of the fabrication, is the perfect embodiment of the complexity of the female gaze itself. What I love about this collection is its ability to represent this complexity, and hopefully present a wedding dress that brides feel represents who they are.”
The “Hera” collection, features 10 beautiful new gowns, all available in sizes 4-20, and draws its inspiration from the ethereal strength of Greek goddesses. This is a collection designed to channel the goddess Hera’s traits of strength, and the duplicity between femininity and masculinity. It’s filled with that perfect juxtaposition. sleek, unadorned mikado fabrics, soft organzas, tiered floaty skirts.
There’s “Raven” an off the shoulder, simple crepe gown, that’s fitted to the waist with a sleek white belt. Their “Diana ” and “Elizabeth” gowns, feature of the moment oversize puff sleeves, made of mikado, take on a modern vibe with a straight neckline and belted waist. For something a little more dreamy? Check out the Zaidee & Amira gowns, the tiered organza, so soft and delicate, practically glows in the sunlight.
The bespoke collection gowns are each handmade to order, and able to be customized by you. Think adding or removing sleeves, adjusting necklines, choosing closures, and of course, making the most of the brand’s own accessories (trains to veils, they have it all). And if one of the gowns isn’t quite your favourite? The DYG (Design Your Gown) bespoke collection, allows you to mix and match the parts of each gown you love, for a truly custom experience.
The “Hera” collection is available at the Australian Karen Willis Holmes boutiques as well as selected stockists across the world. Find your closest one here.
