There was no big proposal when Lillie and Tyson decided to get married, the casual decision, followed by finding a ring, set the scene for not just an easygoing, mutual agreement to spend the rest of their lives together, but a theme that well and truly played out for their colourful and casual Fremantle wedding.
The pair met in their late teens and finally got together in their mid-twenties, said their vows in a very favourite spot, with just twelve of their nearest and dearest present (including baby girl Thea and of course, photographer We Are All Stardust). Before they celebrated with cocktails, disco balls and neon lights at a favourite local bar – this time with all their friends and family present. It was the perfect way to welcome married life for the couple, who dreamt of a day that was a “casual, no nonsense, fun party!”
And with bright and beautiful flowers in tow, a sunshine-filled blue sky, and plenty of bubbles to be poured, it’s about time you scrolled on and immersed yourself in their story.
Of the group’s oh so cool look, Lillie tells “Tyson wore Ralph Lauren pants and shirt which we specifically bought so he could wear again! The bolo tie was a thrifted gift from me to him when we first go together and he had actually never worn it so was super special! He teamed it with an R.M Williams belt, and gold accessories, so just a hint of cowboy!”
Lillie chose L’eto Bridal to create her beautiful, long sleeve wedding gown. She remembers “I have been following them for years and I just fell in love with the dress when I saw it online. Obviously, because of COVID all my measurement and correspondence was done over FaceTime or email. Was a bit of a risk ordering a dress online that I hadn’t even tried on yet but it paid off! I was lucky enough to have a beautiful mother who knows her way around a sewing machine so she was able to make any adjustments I needed when it arrived by post. Couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful gown!”
Hello, bright and beautiful blooms! Lillie and Tyson chose Hello Charlotte to bring their colour palette to life. Says Lillie “My bouquet and ceremony flowers were created by the amazing Hello Charlotte who is a freelance florist I found on Instagram! She absolutely smashed it and we were able to take the ceremony florals to the reception and repurposed them there! Was perfect.”
“Tyson and myself walked down hand in hand with our beautiful daughter Thea!” remembers Lillie. “Not really down an aisle just down the grassed area where our ceremony was!”
Lillie and Tyson were married at North Fremantle Foreshore, right overlooking the water. Says Lillie “I have grown up in North Fremantle so felt very fitting and comfortable to have our ceremony and reception in the area! Our ceremony was just with 12 of our close family, we stayed at pier 21 the night before and set up on the grass on the foreshore which has a very tropical vibe without having to go to Bali.”
“Our ceremony was just 12 of our close family” explains Lillie, who along with Tyson chose Jeff Swain to officiate. “My stepdad made us four benches which formed around our beautiful florals which we positioned under a palm tree in front of the river. It was small but stunning.”
And then it was time to celebrate at the local venue Mrs Brown’s Bar & Kitchen. Says Lillie “We hired the beer garden out the back of Mrs Browns Bar which we were able to deck out with a few decorations. I have been going to Mrs Brown’s since I was 18 years old as I work at Flipside Burger Bar next door and it’s owned by the same owners. It was casual but perfect for us!”
Lillie and Tyson wanted their wedding reception to feel relaxed and like. a sunshine-filled celebration. And it worked! All thanks to Bianca Rizzi – Peggy Sue’s Agency. “Everyone said that felt like a super fun party from the get-go! Our DJ was incredible and played the most amazing tunes all night keeping all the guests dancing and happy (she is one of my good friends and also my hairdresser who did my hair on the day as well! Yes very multitalented).”
“Don’t sweat the small stuff!” advises the bride. “The wedding is about you two, not anyone else. So make it as stress-free as possible! Plan things that you love and which represent you as a couple not just what you think you need to have! It should be fun and all love!
“I do really enjoy planning things so because we kept it quite casual and small the whole experience was lovely! I think picking vendors and venues who were close to my heart made it extra special!”
These two loved the casual, laid back vibe of the photographer they chose too! “Nat was one of my mum’s clients and she recommended her!” remarks Lillie. “She was nothing short of amazing, dealt with the wedding chaos like a pro! Couldn’t have asked for better!”
Lillie and Tyson, what a way to end our week! Thank you for allowing us to share your beautiful stories and to We Are All Stardust for sharing today’s images.
