If we are guilty of anything, it’s that we bang on about how your wedding, your elopement can be whatever you want it to be. And here’s the thing. We’re never going to stop.

And we’re never going to stop filling your inspiration station with ideas, and beauty to inspire you to create a wedding that truly reflects who you are. Today? We’re for the adventure seekers, the lovers who adore nothing more than a hike by the sea. Who want to grab their boots, and spend a weekend amongst the stars, and we’re doing it all on Western Australia’s beautiful Bald Head hike, located just outside of Albany.

This editorial? It’s the brainchild of photographer Holly Medway Photography who invited real-life couple Brenna Ramsay and Jonathan Mwanangela along for the adventure.  “You don’t have to spend much time in the Great Southern to know you are in a spectacular corner of the world” says Holly. “The aqua blue water, the incredible peninsulas and beautiful wildlife simply invite adventure. And yet some of the locals don’t even realise the incredible hikes that are on their doorstep. Bald Head heralded the best day hike in Western Australia and is the perfect backdrop for an adventure elopement (even if you just want to hike a couple of kilometres and not the full 13kms). The beautiful trail follows the ridge line of a peninsular with Frenchman’s Bay to your left and the Southern Ocean to your right.”

Brenna, dressed in a  Nuku Bridal soft lace gown (with a little tulle and a little ruffle for extra romance), her hair and makeup styled by Be You Hair and Beauty and Special Occasion Makeup By Tammy. Brenna’s hat from Will and Bear the perfect boho-inspired finishing touch, Jonathan, donning a classic velvet black suit from Politix coordinating it with a white shirt, complete with black buttons for a modern look. (“Who says you can’t go for a hike in your favourite velvet suit.?” laughs Holly).  Dried floral arrangements, by LUSH Floral Designs with tones of champagne, black and blush with fresh roses adding to the raw, beauty of the seaside.

Says Holly “Elopements present the incredible opportunity to break free of all wedding norms. So forget wearing fancy shoes, forget a pretty building and stand in the middle of mother nature and the incredible backdrop she provides.”
