You know how much we adore colour around here. There is so much about bright and beautiful tones that bring joy and for us because that is exactly what wedding is about, colour and weddings are downright a match made in heaven.
Today’s editorial, which pulls together a South Australian dream team (how perfectly apt for The South Australia issue) is all about colour, but also? It’s all about fun. Stylist (and stationery designer) Jenna Collier of Wonderland Invites sharing “We wanted to focus on what comes after the ceremony…the fun part…the reception, the music, the dancing, the party!”
The scene is set at Adelaide venue Ten 22, captured by photographer Richelle Casson Photography and cinematographer KMS Visions, for a colour filled reception. A table from White Marquee (who supplied all of the furniture pieces) topped with different vessels in tones of peach, blush pink holding coloured candles from Sincerely By Jules and Southern Lights Candle Co. Sweet Nothings Flowers created floral centrepieces of coral and peach poppies amongst lavender, orange and white blooms to bring the party vibe to life. “The florals, cake and signage were the centrepieces which hooked all the other elements, and all the set up’s worked around them,” explains Jenna. Wonderland Invites creating peach menus, which were topped with floral place cards at each setting, beautifully complementing the stationery suite.
Rattan and velvet furniture providing bar service and space for a quiet moment, all adorned with fresh florals and acrylic signage designed by The Ivory Scribe to lead the way.
The newlyweds making the most of the fun, the bride, dressed in a strapless lace gown with tiered polka dot skirt by designers Couture Love Madness, accompanied by the groom, in a modern grey suit from Ignition For Men. The bride’s look is completed with a curly style by Gaetana Marjas, a canvas for a hairpiece by AEL Este. Tess Carbone MUA styling a soft makeup look that echoed the peachy tones.
And for the fun? Let’s tick off the list! A grand champagne tower set by Gold Champagne Towers, live music by the incredible Behind The Veil duo and the aptly never stopping, thanks to DJ Choons & Moovz. Says Jenna “I wanted to concentrate on two things; keeping the furniture simple to provide the most depth and contrast for the colour scheme, and to style the shoot in a way that honoured all the venue’s quirks, whilst keeping the theming bold and modern”. And there is no fun without cake, so make sure you check out the deliciousness by The Cakeup Artist. Two beautiful cakes – one textured beauty with tones of peach, lavender and yellow topped with fresh poppies and a modern, chic grey cake, with a yellow acrylic topper.
Colour, we believe wholeheartedly, should be embraced in all of its joy, and Jenna’s experimentation shows exactly how much fun you can have if you go a little wild. “I wanted to go bold with the colours, as so much of the inspiration out there currently is quite muted and pared back – a look that I love – but I wanted to encapsulate a strong, colourful aesthetic to match the party vibe I was wanting to achieve.”
