Light and bright is all well and good, but sometimes, a soul just needs something dark and moody, There is beauty in the deep tones, the broken down, industrial buildings, the unexpected colour palettes, the utter romance of it all. Today’s dream team took the stunning, historic space of Lithgow’s State Mine Weddings to orchestrate the moody celebration.
The vision of wedding planner and stylist E Squared Design Co. chose photographer Billie Devine to bring the vision to life. Stylist Libby says she was inspired by the narrative of marrying the old with the new, naming the shoot “Reverie”. She tells “Reverie is a celebration of the luxe layers, colours and textures that come with the patina of age.”
Our model, Imogen Rose, accompanied by her real-life partner Connor (in lush red velvet), wore a beautiful black ballgown by designer Angela Osagie. The transparent fabric with black on black appliqué detail adding an utter beauty to the look. Hairstylist Hair By Rebecca Paris completing the glamour with an upswept, woven chignon, in which the team added a gilded crown. The look transforming with soft, romantic waves as the sun set. Makeup artist Jizelle Angelique finishing Imogen’s look with a dewy face, and bold crimson lips.
The couple said their ‘I do’s’ with the help of celebrant Marry Me, Zoe, in front of a backdrop of black, industrial metal stands topped with champagne-hued foliage and deep red flowers. The newlyweds celebrating with champagne and cake at a table fit for kings. Deep mustard linens and winter fruits welcoming a celebration – and a feast! Says Libby “A wild nest of grasses and blooms formed a cozy spot for Imogen and Connor to share their vows, bathed in the beautiful light of The Bathhouse.”
