We’ve got to say that today’s wedding fashion collection from Wiederhoeft blurs the line between fantasy and reality when it comes to modern-day walking down the aisle style, and the visual feast is something your Monday is definitely going to be brighter for.
Based out of New York City, designer Jackson Wiederhoeft designs with a sense of “modern nostalgia” in mind. The pieces drawing their inspiration from his love of theatre and broadway and bringing that sense of the other world to life. The designer sharing “It’s really exciting for me because so much of what I do with the RTW collections is pure dream and vision. It’s meant to inspire and be worn in ways that are theatrical and performative. The bridal collections have provided a real-world context for the garments to inhabit. They are theatrical but in a way that supports and inspires what is one of the most important days of someone’s life.” With 60 beautiful pieces, from gowns to (hello pink tulle!) to beaded bodysuits, beautiful silk-blend pants, you can really make your look your own. Designed to mix and match and be versatile enough to wear to pre-wedding parties, the day of the wedding, the after part, down the aisle – they become whatever you want them to be.
Particularly? We think you’ll love “Jean”, a bow-adorned jacquard gown, or the “Tulle Cherub Dress” a whimsical midi (in white or pink) with hand-embroidered silk ruffles. Want to go dramatic statement? Check out “Jackson”, quilted white silk satin that has a corseted bodice and oversize puff sleeves.
And the fun doesn’t stop with garments, the brand’s accessory collection evokes that same sense of wonder. The “Crystal Fringe Gloves” such a cool way to add sparkle and texture to your wedding attire, just like the “Sequin Snood Veil” which brings to life something completely new for veil lovers. Personal favourite? The “Poof Veil”, which just as it sounds, is layers upon layers of poofy tulle, embroidered with sparkling scattered sequins. Each piece just a little unusual, allowing you to add your own flair to your look.
“The Covid landscape has changed so much of how I view bridal and my approach to weddings at the moment” admits Jackson. “Suddenly this day that is one of the most important days of someone’s life is even more important as social gatherings in the past year have been few and far between (or simply nonexistent). This collection roots itself in the hope I have for the future and my feeling that weddings and joy are coming back hugely. Once we can put the bulk of covid behind us, it’s really up to each of us to muster the confidence and spirit that will lift us higher.”
