You are obviously choosing to get married in nature because personally you love the look and feel of the great outdoors; not only does it look gorgeous, but it most likely signifies a special place for you both. Perhaps you’ve always dreamed of one day saying “I Do” surrounded by trees and grass and birds, or maybe you just discovered how stunning outdoor weddings look. Whatever the reason, you’re not the only one who has a penchant for weddings in the wild. Wedding vendors also adore a nature-themed wedding! The brilliant team at Lovereel Wedding Videography also can’t get enough of nature-inspired and outdoor weddings… and here’s why!
Kirsten & Daniel
National Parks and Nature Reserves include many of our favourite outdoor locations to shoot in. Typically we’re only filming the ceremony outdoors, and pretty much every time we do shoot in one of these locations it’s always a different one and it’s always just as magical! The atmosphere the outdoors creates for wedding films is so memorable and beautiful – from the light, the colours, the movement of gowns in a soft breeze, and the scenery itself can be magnificent!
The surrounding natural scenery of an outdoor wedding has essentially already decorated the wedding for you, leaving not much else to be desired apart from perhaps a few chairs and some flowers. Pretty much every frame we capture is bound to be a beautiful one indeed. It’s hard to go wrong with an outdoor wedding!
Here are some of our favourite outdoor weddings that we have been a part of…
Kirsten and Daniel were married in Wattle Forest in the Royal National Park and were blessed by the sounds of cockatoos squawking throughout their ceremony. Luckily, they didn’t squawk in the middle of anything too important! And is there anything else as striking as native Australian flowers and wattles? Another wonderful element for a wedding video filmed in nature is that we can pick up the sounds of birds, waterfalls, rivers languidly running, and soft waves on beaches – all of these add to the ambience of the day, and when rewatched can take you straight back to these precious moments.
Samantha and Ben ditched the traditional wedding idea, saved a few bucks, and eloped to Barrengarry Mountain in the Southern Highlands, as the bride’s family was stuck in Melbourne at the time (thanks to the pandemic!). Imagine being married on the side mountain with breathtaking views? To make their elopement even more memorable and colourful, the couple were married by the spectacular Married by Timothy!
Caecilia and Dylan eloped to Koolewong Track in Ku-Ring-Gai Chase with some close family and friends. All of the flowers and wattles are Australian natives, which makes their natural decor of the day even more magical and special. The feel of the day was so happy and fun, and made all the more lovely due to being surrounded by nature at its finest.
